SOURCE: Homelite gas trimmer will not run without half choke and throttle

You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.

SOURCE: Homelite trimmer will not start.

Check your fuel filter if you have one, and also make sure you are using fresh fuel and oil mix...to the right mixture and not too much oil.
If the mower/weedeater is over a year old, then I recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
Sounds like you will need to clean the carburetor or replace your carburetor internal rubber parts like the diaphgram and O rings.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instrucitons you get with the carburetor kit.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their orginal position before you started.

My homelite string trimmmer will not run when choke is run position. it will run, but not at full throtle, when choke is set between full choke and half-choke.

you've got a fuel system issue , most likely carb problem, if this a newer trimmer it will likely need the carburetor replaced or adjusted, also check for cracking fuel lines or signs of old fuel varnish in the tank

I have a problem with my homelite ut-20046. It

Run some combustion chamber cleaner (not carb cleaner) through the carb with the air filter off.

Your main jet is partially clogged and it needs a richer air / fuel ratio to run - hence, why the choke needs to be all or partially on.

Hope this helps!

Stalls out at full throttle

Has the air filter been removed, damaged, or the airbox not seated propelry on the carbs neck, this would cause it to run lean hence requiring the choke to be in operation all the time. Have you tried fresh fuel?? This goes stale after a while. I hope this is helpful, Ian

MightyLite is a Real POS. Brand new and only runs on half choke

Agreed all these cheap trimmers are built at a price the only way to tune them is to take it to the dealer, The special tool costs nearly as much as the machine.
So most machines under 100 dollars are throw away and replace its bs but everything is ending up the same.
