I need an obsoolete part for an Alsons hand held shower system

The part is a metal swivel connector that has the pin as part of the connector. The pin fits into the part that slides up and down the bar. The hole that it fits into is 1/4 inch in diameter. The pin is embedded in an acrylic piece that bolts onto the hand held shower. The acrylic piece snapped off. I called Alsons and Nancy, who has worked in customer service for 17 years, said that she has not seen such a piece in all of her years with the company. As far as she knows no one has the piece.

How do I change a single diverter to a 3 way diverter?

Not exactly sure what you are attempting. A quick-and relatively inexpensive way-would be to add an Alsons diverter to the shower arm. It is simply removing the shower head, adding the diverter, and reinstalling the shower head and accessory hand held shower. If you are looking for something different, there are myriad valves on the market that would allow for such change. However, changing to a new valve could get somewhat complicated. For example: you may need to increase the size of the supply lines that are feeding the shower; some diverters require a 3/4" feed.

Also, if you check the box stores, they have several shower/hand held shower kits that already have the diverter with the packaging. Again, I am not exactly sure of the end result in which you seek, but I hope this helps some.

Do you need plumbers tape where the handheld shower connects to the hose?

No tape is needed. As a matter of fact, taping the threads will make it harder for the swivel nuts on either end of your hose to tighten down and seal on the black washers that are supposed to be inside those nuts. It's exactly the same as a garden hose connection. No tape required.

Install grohe shower bar

After removing from wall by unscrewing long screws after removing cap, look inside and you will see a white translucent plastic with 4 wide, flat hooked ends. Take a small screwdriver and gently push each 4 plastic hooked ends and it will come unhooked from the small groove. Push it far enough that the bar will slide out. No need to remove the plastic hooked piece. To replace, push in each hooked end and push in from the opposite end to reinstall.

When we hang up the handheld showerhead the

It depends on the model you have. Most have a large "nut" that will tighten down on the ball swivel. It should have finger grips. Tighten that nut some (clockwise) and it should get much stiffer.

Its having some leaking how can i stop that?

If Leaking from the hose connection you can replace the washer, which you can get at any plumbing/hardware store. If leaking around the head area depending on the make and model, most always in the cheaper ones you just have to replace the whole head. Thank You for using FIXYA, good luck. Jeff

Low water pressure in grohe hand held. Is there a

1 Check if the holes in the hand held shower are not clogged with scum which generally happens over prolonged use. Clean them with a pin. 2 If this does not help, then check the the pipe connecting the shower to the water outlet. It should be clean and not clogged with foreign material which restricts the flow of water. 3 It still it does not help then you may have to fix a booster pump or raise the level of the water reservoir.
