Hi,
It's mounted in an enclosure directly over the carburator.
SOURCE: I have a riding lawn mower. It starts up ok, then
Is the crankcase full of fuel? Remove the dipstick from the engine ( do not wipe clean) and walk away from the engine and in a safe manner hold a lighter to the dipstick. If the dipstick lights and burns then there is fuel in the oil.
If there is fule in the oil then drain then change your oil and rebuild the carb being sure to replace the inlet needle. It is also a good idea to install an inline shut-off valve in the fuel line. Then start and run it again. It will take about 5-10 minutes to burn out the residual oil/fuel from the exhaust. After that it should clear up and not smoke anymore. Dont forget to shut the fuel off when the unit is not in use.
