I need a replacement adapter for the answering machine or I need to know the proper adapter to use for this machine. AT&T does not have this information in their system any longer.

SOURCE: Recovering messages

The 1337's User Guide mentions the battery that keeps messages during power failures. I suspect those message were lost when the power went down.

Here is the link to the 1337's User Guide:

How do you adjust the volume of the answer machine message? We put ringer down to zero and message still blasts out.

Regular universal models are available in the market, visit the nearest electronics spares parts store taking along the faulty adapter and you will get help to choose an adapter with the correct voltage and current rating.

I need a power adapter for telephone base for model 30524

Not a problem. Take the base unit with you to Radio Shack and they will get you a proper replacement. (The numbers on the plug in to the unit will say how many volts Direct Current are required to operate is properly and the tag underneath will also state how many milliWatts of power are required at that voltage.) The key is buying the proper plug in end that fits the socket. Radio Shack has units with several socket tips so you may select the proper one. Make sure the polarity of the socket plug you use matches the wire polarity... the stripe on one side of the power cord is the + side on the socket tip.

Cassette replacement

Well....first of all....you shouldn't need to erase cassettes....this is done automatically when they are recorded over when reusing them. As far as finding replacement cassettes you should find them online with a search. You could try Ebay, or just a general search should turn up some suppliers, or used ones.

I have an answering machine AT&T 1715, but miss the cord power, could you please tell how many amps need and voltage too

Check the bottom of your answering machine. It should have the required power adapter listed. At least my answering machine had a nice clear label.

My 1337 AT&T answering machine uses the DAS-2 power adapter. This outputs 9V 780mA. Googling the adapter number I found that the Lucent 1715 also uses the DAS-2 adapter. (The Lucent is probably identical to the AT&T but check your machine.)

I found a used one here: http://cgi.ebay.com/LUCENT-TECHNOLOGIES-DAS-2-TELEPHONE-POWER-UNIT-9-VAC-/250730379907 . There may be other e-bay sellers with the item.

I hope this helps.

Power adapter

As long as you dont EXCEED the power rating listed on the answering machine itself, you can use/purchase a new power adapter for it.

You should be able to find a power adapter that matches the answering machines power need exactly.

I hope this has helped to solve your problem, good luck!
