How to clean fan for acer aspire

How do I get at the fans to clear them of dust? My laptop seems to be overheating quite a bit when I play a game or spend too much time on it! I have ordered a laptop cool pad in the hope that this will help but until that arrives thought I could try and clean the fans if that is possible? Thanks

You could try air duster or even buy a fan that goes underneath the laptop to help it stay cool.

SOURCE: Acer Extensa 5630G it's overheating a lot!

Cooling pad will be best bet, extend the life of the laptop. They are annoying sometime but got to weigh options. Cooling pads plug into usb so that is a plus, dont have to plug them in wall. Try to find a real slim one, i got a real slim one, not the strongest fan but it keeps my laptop at a good temperature.

SOURCE: ACER aspire one netbook model# A0A150 cooling fan quit

It shouldn't be that hard if you've done it before. netbooks are just so compact, so i suggest you keep track of where everything goes. Make sure you remove the fan and test it with a 9v battery to make sure that it's dead or not.

Acer aspire 5335 switches on then goes off

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Acer 4741G overheating

Hi rizleenahmad

Sounds like your fan that is used to cool the processor has quite working on your laptop, or it is full of dust.
If not repaired/cleaned you will fry the processor.
Try blowing the dust out using compressed air in short bursts, blowing thru the intake and exaust of the laptop.
If that does not cool down you laptop...then the fan is faulty
Please take time to rate me

Acer Aspire 1640z overheating

Clear the dust from the heatsink and fan assembly. Most laptops have vents on the bottom and outlet vents on the side or back of the laptop. The fan covers on the base are held in place by screws. The fan is usually over the CPU and is held in place with 3 or 4 spring loaded screws, remove these will allow you to remove the fan and heatsink assmbly.
If there isn't vents on the bottom of the laptop, only on the sides and back edges, then the heatsink and fan assembly is usually located under the keyboard and you need to remove the keyboard to clean/remove the dust off the heatsink/fan.
After cleaning and before re-assembly apply a thin film of heatsink compound on top of the CPU.
