SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 530 randomly shuts down and restarts

Sounds like it could be a virus. Or, a heat buildup problem - are all fans inside machine working? Is the fan inside the power supply operating? Was there any work done inside the computer recently?
If the hdw is all ok, go out and buy yourself a copy of Norton Internet Security 2009 - 1 user lic - $49.99 @ Staples. Do *not* buy any earlier vers. of this software! Install, update it, run computer computer scan - probably will find/remove some/many viruses.

If this helps, please take the time to rate my response to you.
Thanks and good luck.

SOURCE: Solid Amber light when starting the Inspiron 530

Amber led simplifies a start-up-error. This could be a number of things.

For example:

Check if HDD is connected properly

Check if RAM is connected properly / also if this is damaged your pc wont start.

Check your m/board for any loose capacitors an if they are not popped at the top.

Your LCD screen is properly plugged in to the m/board and if the cables aren't damaged they are very thin and fragile.
also could be the power supply...

SOURCE: My Dell Inspiron 530 wont turn on

yes buy a power supply. I have seen hundreds of computers that have gone through storms. Remember a Dell usually uses a special power supply.
For a good deal look on ebay for your specific model, They almost always have "Buy it Now" deals.

SOURCE: Turning on DELL 530 the orange led remains on

I'll save you 3 hours on the phone with DELL. Same problem.
If you are OK with this, turn power off, discharge system by pressing on button for 5 seconds. Identify the slot for the phone jack/modem. Remove it. Plug in and turn on. If that is the problem, turn off and insert the card in the adjacent slot. They asked that I replace the motherboard, so if you're under warranty, call them.

it sounds like your motherboard is shutting itself off to protect itself from overheating or some other system failure. you should verify all your fans are running at the correct speed. if it seems like everything is running fine, you can probably turn that off in bios. obviously if there is something wrong with the fans, then you need to replace them. Another options is maybe the processor is getting too hot which is why it's shutting down. open the case and remove the heat sync from the board so you can see the processor. clean the thermal paste off the processor and apply a new generous layer. put the heat sync back on and then try and restart. make sure before you do ANY of this you unplug the computer! good luck and let me know if it works!

Dell Inspiron 531 keeps shutting itself off. After a few moments, tries to restart. and shuts down, almost like it's hibernating, or overheating. New PSU and re-thermal'd the processor/fan

Try removing every single thing in the box you are comfortable with removing - reinstalling.
Take each piece starting with one stick of ram - clean the connectors -[ shiny copper or gold looking area] with a clean pencil eraser.
Install each one - one at a time.
First one stick of ram.
Then another - then a removed card - one at a time.
If this problem continues after reinstalling only the first stick of ram - you may have to re-seat the processor - jell- fan. It takes some doing sometimes to hunt this down - so do not eliminate the power supply either - think about removing it and trying another if all of the above fails to fix the problem.
One last thing - if you have Windows 7 and didn't buy it retail - Windows 7 is shutting down because it is not a legit copy.
Best of it
