Hi there, 2. Press
Resume button 2 seconds then press the power button until the
green light on (when pressing the power button, Resume button). 8. Press the power button again then the printer
will flash. Check
your printer again now it's ready. Regards
Well it seems like the waste ink pad error. You can override it but it will need changing or the printer will leak ink from the pad eventually. It needs a service now and the waste ink pad changing but you can reset it yourself by following some simple steps -
1. Plug in the power cord of printer.
3. Then release the resume button, but do not
release the power button.
4. While the power button is still pressed,
press the Resume button 5 times. Led will light turns green orange with the
last glow orange.
5. Release both buttons simultaneously.
6. Led will blink briefly and then will glow
green.
7. And the computer will detect new hardware,
just ignore

I had this problem with the ink carriage jammed at the left hand side of the printer. I operated the lever in a hole on the top left hand side and eased the carriage along to the middle and pushed it back onto it's runners. All OK now.
SOURCE: Message error 6A80
6A80 error is an APP position error caused by the APP motor during the purging operation as the printer starts up. Canon states that one of three components is likely to have failed, the sheet feed unit, purge unit or logic board. All of these will be almost impossible to get as a spare part. The only thing worth trying is an EEPROM reset that can be done using the service manual. Get a copy here: http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/4981053-canon-pixma-mp520-printer-service-manual

You need to carefully clean the encoder strip. It's the clear strip behind the carriage that runs all the way from right to left. A damp Q-tip should remove any grease or fingerprints.
