SanDisk Sansa e200 cracked LCD screen - SanDisk Audio Players & Recorders

My LCD screen broke when the outer screen broke. I really like the mp3 player, and everything else works fine. But I can only see the bottom left corner of the screen. Everything else has weird shapes, patterns, colors, and cracks. Is there any way I can buy another screen, or fix the one I have now?

The LCD screens on the Sansa e200 series are soldered to the motherboard and are therefore beyond the skill level of most end users. Most repair shops also will not be interested in or capable of doing the repair. If you have the inclination to try and repair the screen, you first need to find a donor e200 series mp3 player that has some problem other than the screen, as you will most likely be unable to source the LCD any other way.

The best solution is to simply buy a new one - unless you enjoy soldering small traces.

M200 with ink all over the cracked screen

Not worth it. The only way to get a replacement screen is to buy a broken m200 that has a good screen - and even then, it may not work if the LCD controller was also damaged. I have yet to see a successful screen repair on this model - YouTube has videos of people who tried.

SanDisk Sansa View Slim 8gb Screen Cracked

I broke the screen on my e200 series 6gb so I asked Sansa tech support about it and I was told that Sansa does not own any repair or support facilities whatsover. This means that you really can't get it fixed without either buying a new one or getting it replaced altogther.

Do all the Sansa E200 series MP3 players use the same size LCD screen?

Yes, the only difference between the e250, e260, etc. is the internal memory capacity.

Dropped my SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 player- screen broken

Probably not. Open a ticket with the sandisk.com support and see if you can get it replaced if it's under warranty. you may have to call because they are kinda slow at getting to the tickets.

Thank you and please respond with any comments or more questions.

Sansa e250 cracked faceplate needs replacement

If it's just the faceplate (and not the underlying actual LCD) you could replace it with the intact faceplate from an otherwise defective unit. Any of the e200 series should fit. Try that online auction site to see if you can find a cheap defective one, just make sure the faceplate isn't cracked before you bid.

These mp3 players should *always* be placed in one of those clear protective cases. I have mine not only in a clear plastic case, but also in a leather case with a belt clip. Never just stick it in your pocket as that will surely lead to a damaged headphone jack.

Sansa E200

You may have uploaded the incorrect or have had unstable power connected to your Sansa E200 when updating. If that is so, your Sansa E200 has been bricked and it's useless. This is the correct Sansa E200 Firmware Updater, "http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376" (Note: Sandisk is Sansa)
