Question about Russell Hobbs RHOK3123 Cordless Electric Kettle
A common cause is the calcium, or some other minerals in the water eventually ate through the bottom of the tank. You will need a new tank, or better... A new kettle.

Descaled my kettle with vinegar and it began to leak immediately. The water dripped from the join between the brushed steel and plastic about where the swith is located. I'm sure that scale behaves exactly like ice does in rocks. As the scale builds up joints are gradually expanded so that when descaled the kettle begins to leak. I applied LS-X along the joint line (outside the kettle) over the leaking point and a few inches on either side. Left it all to dry overnight. Two months in and the kettle remains sound.
