Okay, so i know my code to unlock it and i know how to do it. But my little sister was messing with my radio before i remembered my code, and hit a button and now it'll say LOC but when i press the second button to imput the numbers, it says 'lnop' atleast thats what it looks like. I had a friend disconnect and reconnect the battery, that didnt work, he pulled the radio fuse and security fuse, and that didnt work either.. im wondering, do i need to take apart where my ashtray is to disconnect the radio? HELP PLEASE! i really dont want to go to a dealer!

It is written in your owners manual. you need a code which the original owner would have written down somewhere in the manual. If no code, no radio. Only the dealer can unlock and make new code.
shouldnt have to pay notify a chevy dealer in person for code most dealers wont deal with a code problem over phone they dont charge for the code due to the fact that a dead battery can also lock out the radio system into the anti-theft mode
If the code is not at the back of your manual, try 0000 and if the radio locked it self from taking any more codes. Just disconnect the battery and that will reset the radio so you can re-enter the code. If 0000 did not work then log on to Radio-code.com, you can get your cod there for like $12.00 which is cheaper then the dealer and you get to know the codes as most dealer will just unlock the radio. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted if you have any more question.
Unlocking Error E3 on Honda AccordI had the same problem after my battery died and I didn't know what "Code" meant so I just pushed buttons until I got Error E3 and it locked up. You need to disconnect one battery terminal for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect, and the radio will say "Code" again. Type in the 5 digit code fount on the Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card (a white credit card size card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase). This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state. It worked for me, so I hope that helps. Try this I discovered a very easy and FREE way to fix your radio. Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Turn the radio on and your SERIAL NUMBER will appear. 4 numbers first and then 4 more. Write them down (obviously) then call (800) 999-1009. Make sure you have your VIN number handy because they will ask for it. They will ask for your name and approx. milage, and your radio's serial number. They will then give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN! --------------- hope this helps. thanks.
the loc code is set the first time the radio is turned on. if you don't know the code there is no legal way to unlock it with out the tools at the dealership.
You must take it to a dealership and they will unlock it for you. There is a specific dealer code that will unlock any radio and once they do it, you pick one that you will remember. This is part of the anti theft. Hope this helps.
This happened to me. You have to call Acura and fax them a copy of your driver's license & the vehicle registration. You then call them back in 24 hours and they will release the code for your radio. It's a bit of a hassle, but at least you'll know the code!
GETTING THE RADIO SERIAL NUMBER: <BR> don't know an easy way to get the radio serial number, find a radio install savy person and ask them to help you. My dealership said they would do it for me and charge me for 30-60 mins worth of labor.. (At $75/hour) <BR> <BR>
RADIO SAYS "OFF" OR "LOCK": <BR> Leave the "off" display on for 1 hour uninterupted, then it will automatically reset back to UNLOCK CODE. <BR> When you turn it back on again after that time has passed it will ask for "code". <BR> <BR>
RADIO SAYS "UNLOCK CODE:" <BR> Call your local MItsubishi dealership and ask for the service department. <BR>They have a computer program where they punch in the serial number from your radio (you have to supply the number) and it will tell them the UNLOCK CODE for your radio. My dealership offered to give it to me free over the phone, if I knew my radio serial number. Enter the code using the buttons on your radio. And write the code down, this will show up everytime your radio looses connection to its power source - the car battery.
InOp means inoperable. There is a 4 digit code that you have to put in on the radio. I don't know if they are all the same code or not, but mine is 0642. read the directions in your car book. If you don't have one let me know and I can scrape mine up. Basically, though any time your battery is diconnected you will have to unlock the radio.
