The T2792 is four years old, and has had the motherboard die twice. Recently, it has begun to bog way down, so I decided to wipe it, reload Windows, and start from scratch. It wiped fine, using WipeDrive, from White Canyon Software. After this, I used the three discs that came with it to reinstall Windows. This worked fine as well, but when I tried to start it up after this, the problems started.
After the ordinary Windows XP loading screen, the screen went black for a moment, then the loading screen reappeared, this time smaller and only in the center rather than filling the entire screen. After this, it came up with a predominantly blue screen with the Windows logo in the top left, and Emachines logo top right. Typical(I assume) Windows Installation. Everything went fine (Language, Time Zone) until it asks for a name for the computer. I name it, but when I click next, it greys out the buttons and switches to the hourglass. It's not frozen, the help menu still works, providing useless information. I figure I'll give it some time to load, but eight hours later, the computer is at exactly the same point.
Trying again, I choose to skip this step. Same result. Attempting to start the computer in safe mode tells me the Windows installation is incomplete, and that I need to run setup again. This is the situation thus far.
I should mention that the modem has been removed from it, and it currently has a GeForce graphics card in it. It also currently has an SBC internet connection, and an HP-PSC 1210 printer plugged in. Will any of these affect the installation? Any help would be very nice.

Just had this excact same problem with a tech call. Warrenty Corp of America sent out a new MB, HDD, Processor, and Memory, after replacing that all same problem. They then reccomended new recovery CD's, We found some on ioffer.com, I don't know if that worked because they ahd used recovery cd's before without problems, but after replacing every major component in the computer I don't know what else it could be, interesting side note it had a new graphics card installed on it just a few weeks prior...
I would re-do the re-install. It didn't finish .. It isn't complete. It is always a good idea to have nothing and I mean NOTHING attached to your computer when doing an install/re-install except monitor, keyboard and mouse. Was the GeForce in it originally (not that it really matters)

Should I re-wipe the computer then?
I'll disconnect everything as well, and the GeForce was not, it came with an Intel Extreme Graphics card onboard.
