SOURCE: My toshiba 32a42a does not have a power button-how

This set has a power button on the far right of all the buttons on the front. I looked at page 11 of the owners manual http://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000001840.pdf and it shows it very clearly. It looks as if the power button may be turned the opposite way from the other buttons. Thanks

I need a code for a Toshiba tv and I have a yk524-01 remote

Here are the steps to program your YK524-01 remote to your Toshiba TV using a code:
  1. Turn on your Toshiba TV.
  2. Press and hold the "TV" button on your YK524-01 remote until the LED light blinks twice.
  3. Enter one of the following 3-digit codes for Toshiba TVs: 115, 125, 136, 156, 159, 160, 170, 179, 185, 195, 204, 216, 218, 227, 228, 229, 231, 233, 235, 236, 238, 239, 240, 241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252, 253, 254, 255.
  4. Press the "Power" button on your YK524-01 remote. If your Toshiba TV turns off, the code has been successfully programmed. If your Toshiba TV does not turn off, repeat steps 2 to 4 with a different code from the list.
If none of the codes work, you can try the automatic code search method:
  1. Turn on your Toshiba TV.
  2. Press and hold the "TV" button on your YK524-01 remote until the LED light blinks twice.
  3. Press and release the "Power" button on your YK524-01 remote.
  4. Press the "CH+" button repeatedly until your Toshiba TV turns off.
  5. Press and release the "TV" button on your YK524-01 remote to save the code.
I hope this helps!

  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

I need remote codes for a src-300a to a toshiba tv

One of these three codes should work: 0156, 0060, 0154

In addition, here are the commands to get your remote into programming mode should you require them.
  • Press the LED button and hold it down until the LED Flashes.
  • Press the REC button. The LED stops blinking at this point and stays solid.
  • Press and release the POWER. The remote is now in TV Code Scan Programming Mode.
  • Press the UP ARROW (above SELECT) button to scan through all the TV codes. When you reach the correct TV code, the TV will automatically turn off.
  • Press the SELECT button to store the TV code. The LED flashes rapidly then stops, indicating code has been stored.

Hello
You can prgramme with
toshiba remote control with Toshiba TV, eventhough you haven't its manual or codes. Proceedings are :

1. Make sure there are working batteries in the Toshiba remote control.

2. Turn on your television set, DVD player or other device that you want to control with the Toshiba remote.

3. Find the "Recall" or "Setup" button on the Toshiba remote control. After you find it, press and hold down that button until the lights on the remote control turn on and remain lit.

4. Point the Toshiba remote at the device you turned on in Step 2 and press the button on the remote for that device.
5. Begin pressing the "Power" button on the Toshiba remote. Continue doing this until you have turned the device off using the Toshiba remote. Once it shuts off, press "Enter" on the Toshiba remote. The remote will then be programmed

Toshiba 32A42A - Menu options pop up all by themself, and the TV is making its own choices. Can this be fixed or do I call a Preist for an exercism or just get rid of it ?

I had the exact same problem yesterday. It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to find a solution. Here is the solution: It is not a stuck button or the television being 'posessed' that is resulting in the menu cycling. It is the fact that the television is in the DEMO mode. I was able to read the manual for this television online at the Toshiba website. On page 30 it states 'To stop the DEMO mode press 'recall', ''exit', or 'power'. Unfortunately the 'recall', and 'exit' button are on the original remote which I no longer have. The power button on my model is broken. I use the cable box to 'turn on the television'. In reality, the TV is never off, it is just showing a black screen when the cable box and DVD player is off. I suspect this defect in the power button has occured on other TV's experiencing this problem. I was able to push the broken power button to the inside and side of the television casing exposing a round circle that the power button pushes when the power button is not broken. I pushed this small circle to turn the television off. After about 5 seconds I pushed the button again and the television went on without the annoying menu popping up. Just unplugging the television and plugging the television back in does not work. You need to be able to push the power button, or one of the other 2 buttons on the remote previously mentioned.
Also on page 30 it explains how to activate the DEMO mode. It's not too hard to accidentally do, especially when you have kids pushing buttons haphazardly.
I hope this helps someone outthere in cyberspace! Kevin

Tv will not go on

On my GE Tv/VCR Combo I had a similar problem. Try holding down the Power button on the remote for at least 7 seconds. This disengages the parental controls. I found this solution on another website after my tv stopped working after my 20 month old played with the remote for a while. This solution was not in manual. I am assuming that he held down the power button for 7 seconds to engage the parental control. Hope this helps!
