Turn off the progressive scan and then connect. Also let me know the ports available on the TV so that I can check whether it requires any converter to make the connection. Thank you.

In that case, you need to use an A/V to VHF/UHF converter to connect the TV DVD player

Hello, I am experiencing a problem with getting the Toshiba SD4300 DVD player to work on my older model Insignia TV. You said to turn off the scanner on the DVD player. HWere is that and how do I turn it off?

Hooking up Toshiba dvd player SE-r0301 to technika tv

This will depend on how old the Tv and DVD player are. Most modern equipment now simply uses an HDMI cable. A simple plug it in at both ends, turn the Tv to the correct 'Input' screen and job done.
Older setups might use a Scart cable or even the older RGB/Component cables. Most Tv manufacturers now don't use these connectors as they are considered 'Old' and poor quality technology.

I have a Toshiba tv that is connected to Direct tv and I want to know how to connect my new Phillips dvd player to it my tv?

Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

Toshiba Dvd won't work properly with my new TV

if your old tv was an analog one you need a digital converter box to change to the new signal.. new tvs wont recognize the analog signal..temporarily you may be able to use your laptops' dics player as a player for your discs..

How to connect old analog tv to blu ray dvd player

You will need to connect to the component inputs on the TV, red, white and yellow sockets. If the DVD does not have these outputs you can get a converter cable such as this

My TV doesn't recognize my dvd player. The TV is new-panasonic viera TCP42GT25. The dvd player is a toshiba-less than a year old.

you shuld check the cable you are connecting. may be there is some fault that is restraining it from recognizing. if the cable is ok check whether the connections made are ok or not. if that too is perfect check for the connecting sockets. check in tv as well as dvd player. change the faulty socket. hope your problem will be solved.

Dvd play works but vcr playing does not

For this unit the component output (green, blue, and red cables) only work for the DVD player portion of it. You will need to connect either the av input on the back or the front with composite (yellow, red, and white cables) to your television in addition to the component cables I assume you have connected already. Once you have done so you will need to switch this unit over to the right av output in order to access the vcr and also switch your television over to the right av input in order to pick up the signal from the vcr.

Connecting VCR to TV

Oh man dont shoot your stuff instead use your remote and go to your menu and select your input. You tv is looking at your coaxial input but you can select which input you want. 1, 2 front back whatever you need. channell 3 or 4 has nothing to do with connecting up your dvd if you connect and choose the front connection in your menu.

Connecting to front inputs of a Toshiba tv

As a replacement for "Dolby Digital DT3 AV cable" can be used a " 3.5mm (mono) to RCA(or coaxal)" Cable.
Just make sure that DVD Player set for "SPDIF/RAW" or "SPDIF/PCM" output

No sound

If the tv does not have sound with out connecting the dvd then you are having a problem in your audio circuit have a tech look at it.if its only when you connect the dvd then you could have connect cables wrong.you cannot route a dvd through a cable box.any dvd s compatible with tv so long as the connections are there. goodluck.
