I have a RX-V461 AV Receiver for my Samsung HDTV.

I inadvertently disabled the surround sound speakers trying to adjust the volume of the two surround sound speakers. I should have not tried that stunt! Now I cannot figure out how to enable the two speakers.
The three front speakers work just fine.
Can you help?
Thanks!
Ed

Hi,
I don't have manual here, but try to go to Setup menu / Speaker setup / Manual Setup / Config and check if rear speakers are NOT set to None.

Sherwood RX-5502 receiver - get no sound.. checked polarity - OK... replaced speaker wire - OK... checked speakers on another device - OK.... tried phono and tuner and cd player - no sound with any........

Hi,

After doing all this troubleshooting on your receiver, Check if master volume on the surround levels are too low. Adjust master and surround level.

There may aIso incorrect selection of the input source. Select the correct input source.

If after doing this the problem still continue, it means the sound ic in the receiver is damage. the sound ic brings out the sounds from the receiver. You will have to open the receiver to locate the sound ic in the receiver and use the multimeter to read capacitors and change the damage ones.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Need a hookup diagram for yamaha rx-v461 plus yamaha yst-sw216 please

Hi,
Here you can find the manual for your subwoofer. Looking at its back side, it has 2 RCA plug input for stereo. Receiver has just mono sub output, but as low frequencies are not easily locatable, mono is perfectly OK.
Just connect receiver SUB-OUTPUT with RCA cable to your subwoofer's RCA LEFT input. Then adjust volume to match rest of your speakers.

Yamaha RX V-663 video output into old Coaxial TV

You need a coax to RCA converter. Do a google search, Belkin makes one, Radio Shack probably has one too.

Different sound levels dvd and cable hdtv yamaha htr-6130

Well, first of all, the method you are using is the lowest quality. You should upgrade to a toslink(digital optical cable) or a digital RCA cable. The toslink is the best all around. But it is normal for some devices to have higher sound output than others.

Help setting up Yamaha RX-V461

Typically, only stereo inputs exist on any comsumer-grade receiver, and the actual decoding to 3, 4, 5, 6, and even 7.1 is done internal in the receiver. When a "placement" signal is detected by the receiver, the sound is routed to the correct speaker. Please refer to a user manual
