Panasonic KX-TD7896 Phone phone no longer rings only vibrates

Our portable phone only virbrates and no longer rings. I checked all the setting.. the ringer is set to volume 6 and seems to be turned on. When I call in and ring the receptionist, the phone shows that the ring tone is muted? Is there a secret to un-muting the ringer?

Is there an 'M' on the display? If so, that means it is in 'meeting mode.' All you have to do is press and hold the star key (*) and that will take care of it.

Take one of the existing extensions on the system and listen with a normal telephone if you get Dial tone...Then if you do Plug in your Cordless phone and listen if you do get it then... If not..most probably the cordless is faulty.

check if it works properly. if not the you need to change

Go to the phone settings and change the profile settings 4rm silent,if not still working change the ringtone settings.

I have a kx-td7896. Display screen lights up but no letters or numbers appear on the screen( it fell on the floor). the phone still works, rings and dials but cant see anything on the screen . can it be...
good news and bad news:

good news- it CAN be fixed

bad news- not by you

you would need to send it to a refurb house, but they don't always deal with the public... best bet would be to find your local panasonic dealer, get a new one, and have them install it

It's a cordless phone and it requires a port and a base if that's what you're asking. It's not a "cell" station.

HOLD DOWN the "M" key which is the "*" key in the bottom left for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.  Repeat if you want mute again.
