To me, it sounds like a huge clunking sound whenever the motor shuts off - every 15 minutes or so. It SOUNDS like something is loose and is shaking around each time the motor comes to a stop. What i'd wish to know is what is loose and how can I get to the part to tighten it up (where's the motor most easily accessed?)

Whirlpool Gold Fridge w/ freezer on top. LOUD banging noises.

I think the banging means the compressor is shot. (more like a load "clunk"). I had the same noise on a dehumifier.) I dont' think replacing a compressor is a DIY, and doubt it is economically efficient. But I leave that to the specialists to comment on. Check Craig's List in your area - you can get a good deal for a few hundred bucks.

Also, the "clanging noices" is probably the fan blades for the air circulator that moves cold air from the freezer to refrig compartment. Check the online manual for your model (exploded parts view) to see where it is located and if it is readily accessible by taking out a few screws inside the refrigerator. Might be more than one fan - open the door when it happens and see if you can locate where the noice is coming from. This is a plausible DIY - I did it only my old fridge - replacement parts were cheap. But you might even be able to just reallign the fan blades so they don't clang.

Hi I have a samsung r20 laptop only 5 months old and the cd drive will not open it makes no noise and just suddenly stop working

It sounds like the drive has just stopped working. Since it's likely under warranty still, I would contact the manufacturer and have them replace the drive. If you have a cd stuck in the drive, you can use a paperclip in the small hole on the face of the drive to eject it and remove your CD.
