SOURCE: I have a Kenmore stand mixer that needs a new

Sorry to say, the part is no longer available from the Sears parts site, and no substitute exists. Unless you can find a bowl from some other brand and model, or just a suitably-sized mixing bowl, you're out of luck.

How do I get an owners manual for Kitchen Aid Ultra Power Model KSM90 stand mixer? I was given the used mixer and I do not know the frist thing about it.

Hi PASTYJOHN, it's very easy to download both the Owners Manual and Parts List manual for your KA mixer. You can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.

Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> then enter the visitor type "Consumer" and enter the 6 character model number, in this case KSM90P, where you can choose one of the three size files under Owners Manuals (20). Since there are three versions - 191.99 KB, 2730.37 KB or 3230.97 KB, I would download all three and save the one you feel is best for your needs. Similarly, I would also download a parts list manual, too. Since the Parts List manuals are exactly the same you can choose any one of the 16 available to download and save.

Good luck, I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA, USA

Kitchenaid stand mixer ksm90wswh how to install motor brushes/spring. Took out by mistake. Is there a only one way to put them back in?

Hi GOTWEIMS. Yes there is only one way to reinstall your brushes and that is so they both seat correctly on the armature's commutator or you won’t get any ‘juice’ to the motor. See the illustration below:
815b35c.jpg

If you've turned a brush 90 degrees too much, it won’t seat properly and you’ll get no power to the motor.
It would also be helpful to have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> then enter the visitor type “Consumer” and the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM90P, in the Model Number box. Select one the files listed for your model that appears under Parts List (16): KSM90PSWH0.pdf (354.08 KB) and save that file to your PC (check to see it this matches your mixer model).
Turn to pages 6 & 7, titled “Motor And Control Parts”, which provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer’s electrical components, along with all the parts. Locate Illus No 32, Brush holder that includes #18, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 31 which is the brush holder and brush & Spring assembly respectively. This illustration along with my initial reply regarding the orientation of the brushes should allow you to reinstall your brushes with confidence. Good luck, I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Is there an exploded assembly diagram I can reference

Hi LONGLEY632. It sounds like you’re in the need of your mixer’s parts list. It provides ‘reasonable’ exploded views of the various components of your mixer. Enough so that you can disassemble, identify parts and reassemble your mixer.
You can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> then enter the visitor type “Consumer” and the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM90P, in the Model Number box. Select one the files listed for your model that appears under Parts List (16): KSM90PSWH0.pdf (354.08 KB) and save that file to your PC. Check to verify this matches your mixer model.
Good luck! I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

I have lost the manual and need the directions for use of the Kitchenaid mixer 5 quart

HI JWPERCY14223. It is very easy to download the
The inspection and troubleshooting of the mixer transmission is a DITY capability, particularly if your mixer is out of warranty. Just be sure to have the correct Part List manual around when you start to disassemble your mixer. If you're lacking one, you can download it from the KA website (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home).
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and select “Consumer” for User Type, then enter the 6 character model number, in this case K45SSW, and then select the first file under Owners Manuals (2) K45SSWH-0.pdf (2730.37 KB) (be sure to check that it matches your mixer).
The first file is the full 86 page ‘Instructions and Recipes’ manual in English that was originally included with your mixer. The second file is a 60 page multi-lingual (English, French and Spanish) Instruction manual without recipes.
While you’re downloading the Owner’s Manual, I would recommend downloading the accompanying Part List Manual, too. Select the file under Parts List (1) K45SSWH0.pdf (341.41 KB) and save that on your computer. If your ever have to troubleshoot or repair your mixer the Parts List manual will be an invaluable document to have on hand when taking your mixer apart and reassembling it.
Here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer for your future reference, too.
Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able to completely disassemble and reassemble your mixer.
Good luck! I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Replacing the brush

Hi DENAULTR, this is a repeat of my previous answer to your problem. It would also be helpful to have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM50P (Your K5SS mixer falls within this manual), and select the first file KSM50P.pdf (438.31 KB) listed under Parts List (4) and then check to verify this matches your mixer model. Turn to pages 6 & 7, titled ?Motor And Control Parts?, which provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer?s electrical components, along with all the part names and numbers. Locate Illus No 47, Brush holder assembly that includes Illus. Nos. #28, 32, 33, 34, & 46, and Illus. No. 29, Brush & Spring assembly respectively. Make sure you orient each bruch correctly following the illustration here: The Parts List diagrams along with the picture above regarding the orientation of the brushes should get your mixer powered back up and operational. I need the manual for my K5SS mixer my

Hi WWW_SOCRAFTI, you can easily download both the Owner’s Manual and Parts List manual for your K5SS mixer online from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM50P (Your K5SS mixer falls within this model range), and then select this file: KSM50PPWH0.pdf (5156.65 KB) from the Owners Manuals (9) list and this file: KSM50P.pdf (438.31 KB) listed under Parts List (4). Check to verify they match your mixer model. You can save them to your PC hard drive, and then you can print a hard copy if you wish, or just refer to it when you need to use it.
The reason I suggest downloading the Parts List manual is that should you decide to try and troubleshoot and fix your KA mixer, this manual will be invaluable in the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer along with listing all the part names and numbers. Having the correct part names and numbers is critical when reordering replacement parts when your mixer eventually will stop working.
Good Luck with your mixer, I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

How do I access the gear box?

Hi RJ0804, it’s quite easy to disassembling your mixer (OK, it may require a little bit of effort). Here are links to three excellent websites that detail with pictures the disassembly, re-greasing and reassembly of a KA Mixer.
This will allow you to remove the top housing of the bottom of the mixer and provide you access to the gears within the head of the mixer.
Once you get that done, you will want to have the Part List manual around for the rest of the disassembly. If you're lacking one, you can download it from the KA website at: (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home).
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number, in your case KSM150P and select the next to last file KSM150PSWH0.pdf (773.44 KB) (it’s the white model that’s all…) listed under Parts List (61). (Verify that it matches your mixer model, though).
To disassemble your mixer you will need the following tools: a regular & Phillips screwdrivers, snap-ring pliers, a small drift pin punch and a small hammer. By using the exploded views in the Part List manual, you should be able to disassemble, inspect, identify, replace and reassemble your mixer.
Good luck and have fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA
