After about half an hour, either the remote control stops working or the TV stops responding to it,....why? What can I do?
Sounds like it may simply be the batteries dying in your remote. Try putting a fresh set in to see if that helps at all.
Also be sure to check the battery terminal contacts inside the remote control's battery compartment as well to ensure there is no corrosion deposits which may cause intermittent faults. Clean / scrape off any rust or deposits with a flat head screwdriver or something similar until the metal contact is shiny again.
Good luck.

The problem can be in the IR receiver, it either not getting the 5vdc, or it failed, or the logic board is bad.
You will need to find out if the signal get to the logic board when the IR receiver gets the signal from the remote control.

SOURCE: My LG TV does not respond to the remote control.
Try using a small miniphone plug such as headphone and plug it into the remote sensor jack on the back, do that a couple of times to clean the contact switch inside, see if that will work first, if not, then you may have IR receiver board problem. Please post back.
