Try company that made the sound card http://www.zzounds.com/item--EMU8803 look there they may have a solution apparently there is a partition going around asking them (the Company) to revert back to the old standard of the card?

SOURCE: emu 1616 will not run on my pc

MONFICAT - What service pack are you running, under Windows XP? Are all Windows updates installed? One thing you may want to do is (after making sure all Windows updates are applied), uninstall and reinstall the E-mu software, as directed in the manual. When reinstalling the software, make sure you follow the instructions in the manual. You MUST follow the instructions in the manual, else the software will not install properly. Good luck with it!

SOURCE: E-MU 1616. Problem installing drivers

"I am running windows XP proffessional 5.1 on a HP (compaq) dc7600.
Could this be the problem?"

It could be. Bring up your system properties box (Windows key + Pause/Break key). Is that the version shown at the top right on the GENERAL tab?

Is there some reason you have not installed service pack 2 or 3? Of course if you're running an illegal copy of Windows you can't, but I mean any legitimate reason? If we can eliminate the problem with installing the latest service packs we can move forward.

SOURCE: Emu 0404 stopped working

If you reinstall the drivers (2.1) and reboot, your sound should come back. I have to do this occasionally. Am actually trying to find out what the heck is causing the problem... reinstalls take time. But you don't need to move the card at all.

EMU 0404 PCI express. Will not start with computer. I Have to start PatchMix manually on every start-up. John.

When you do have ParchMix up and running, single-right-click the blue striped icon in your system tray (lower right corner of screen) and choose Restore Defaults from the popup menu. By default, PatchMix should start each time your computer is booted up.

When i try to install windows xp sp2 it says "no hard disk detected" i also doesn't know how to use nlite.could u pls help me with a complete step by step method starting from nlite to completion of driver...

First of all, as this Notebook is installed with SATA Hard Drive, any retail version of windows XP will not be able to detect the Hard Drive because of which you are getting this kind of errors when trying to install XP.

However, to proceed with installing XP in your Notebook, I recommend you to disable the SATA Native Support option which will be present with Notebooks installed with Intel Processor and not with AMD Processor.

You can disable the SATA Native Support feature from the BIOS by following the instructions below :

Start or restart the notebook and start tapping the F10 key which will take you to the BIOS setup window.

In this, go to the System Configuration tab where you will find the SATA Native Support.

Press Enter to select it when the option is hilighted and set the option to Disabled.

Now, press F10 key to Save the settings and exit the BIOS setup window.

By doing this, the Hard Drive in the Notebook will be detected as IDE Hard Drive and you should be able to install XP without any issues.

Please not down that the SATA Native Support option should be set to Disabled even after installing the Operating System in the Notebook.

However, I need to have the Product Number of the Notebook wich can be found printed on a white sticker pasted at the bottom of the Notebook indicated wit P/N using which I can find the Hadware specifications of the Notebook and provide the appropriate drivers.
