Vector 5000 watt inverter - sudden puff of smoke and pfffft. No power. Who can repair these things? I think I overloaded it with 2 heaters plugged in at the same time.
Yes u got da inverter overloaded out puts r gone 2hot and fan couldnt cool it enough now this inverter basicly a amplifier amp does da same problem when da out put r blown yes i got da unswer

of course check the compressor for malfunction but that would never explain a puff of smoke in the cab what did the puff of smoke smell like just a water vapor electrical, rubber,
the shear pin, which goes through the grinder blade base and the motor shaft has 'sheared' off the protect the motor from overload. The metal bits of the pin need to be removed from both the grinder part and the shaft, a new one inserted. It is a 'pressed fit', so it will be hard to remove.
After the bits are removed, a common 'roll pin' of the proper diameter should be a suitable replacement
A puff of smoke when you start up indicates worn valve seals.That's why all your work didn't fix the problem and it doesn't show a code. It's a pain in the --- job that requires some specialized tools so I guess it depends on how bad it bugs you,if oyu want to fix it.
