SOURCE: hotpoint Aquarius wd440

Find the pipe that comes out of the bottom of the drum, this may contain coin, muck, etc. Clean. This pipe leads to the small pump that draws the water out. If your clean of the pipe does not work the machine.......there could be a fault with your pump..........which you can/cannot clean.

SOURCE: Tumble dryer not heating/drying

To check the element and stats, you need to remove the rear panel of the dryer, there you will see the stats and the element, you need to check for contin uity with a meter set on the ohms range, do it with the stats disconnected, or you will get a false reading.. if one of the stats has gone, then you must replace both of them.
Check thst all filters are clean ,air intake and outlet clear, and wash the lower fluff filter out under a running water supply.
If still no joy ,then could be a control unit prob..
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.

SOURCE: maytag dryer not heating up thus not drying clothes

This is usually a simple heating coil malfunction. The coil may have breaks in it causing it not to work. It could also have something to do with 1 of several heating sensors that may be broken, telling the dryer's heating coil that the dryer is too hot, in effect turning off the heating coil. If your dryer has a round lint filter in the rear of the drum, it was 1 of 2 models of Dependable care dryers produced in the 1970's. If this is the case, i supose it would be up to you whether you want to try and get it repaired or not. If you have one of the more recent models,,, the lint filter is directly behind the door, at the front of the drum. and in this case it would probably be a good idea to get it looked at it as Maytag is a relatively dependable brand.

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail(meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) thatmight need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can tripout or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehaveprograms that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcodeshowing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also bethe fault.

I have a hotpoint aquarius tdc 30 conderser dryer. It gets hot and rotates the clothes, but they aren't drying. what's wrong?

Hi, Well if it is getting hot but not drying the clothes than most likely you have an airflow problem. Take off the vent hose on the back of the dryer. It will be plugged up with lint either inside that vent on the dryer or the hose will be plugged somewhere. If you clean this or just plain replace the old hose this will take care of the problem. Good Luck. feed back is appreciated.

I HAVE A HOTPOINT AQUARIUS WD62 WASHER DRYER. THE DRYER FAN TURNS ON BUT DOES NOT HAVE ANY HEAT COMING THROUGH, ONLY BLOWING COLD. CAN YOU SUGGEST WHAT NEEDS CHANGING? THANKS - RICHARD S

It will be a faulty thermostat or element more than likely, or a broken wire.
Remove top cover, and you will see the heater manifold over to the right side, there you will see the element and thermostats.
You will need a meter to test them.
Hope this helps.

No heat

Check on the back of the drum for a thermal fuse or relay. Common fault on tubledryers is no power to heating coils becuse of blown fuse or most likely the relay to heating coils is dirty. have to be cleaned about every 2/3 years depending on use.

My hotpoint dryer takes forever to dry We have

You will have to access the dryer to clean the internal ductwork. If the venting is good, another thing that will cause a dryer to take a long time to dry is a faulty high limit thermostat. It is a small, round, black device mounted on a plate and attached to the internal ductwork with two screws. While inside, also check the thermal fuse and heating element. These can be checked with a multimeter or ohm meter for continuity. If a component does not have continuity, then it is defective and will need to be replaced. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

Here is a pic of thermal fuse and high limit thermostat to help you out.

Hello, sounds like your cold water feed hose has got a kink in it. The machine needs cold water to condense the steam. Just pull out the machine and slowly slide back into place.
