Have a Frigidaire Model FRS26R4CW0 side by side..
    Compressor buzzes and no cooling..
Wait a day or two, and it comes back on for a couple of weeks....
    right now, it's just buzzing.
Does this sound like the overload relay...or the compressor going bad

Heres a part number for the overload relay assy 5304468029.. its mounted on the side of compressor. its a tricky one, usually my experience has been the noise comes from a bad compressor( which you should have 5 year full warr from manufacture). sometimes the overload relay does go bad preventing compressor from starting, the n ew compressor will come with a new overload relay

Started making a loud buzzing noise. Have tried unplugging it and turning it off and on.

Good Morning Denise, thank you for your inquiry!
From the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer is making a buzzing noise and it will not stop. You may need to perform a reset on your freezer and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord for at least ten minutes. If the buzzing continues I would be happy to research your freezer further, in order to do so I would need your model number. You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall. Once I have that information I would be happy to help you further. -Matt

The fridge/freezer is making buzzing noises that go on for 10/15 seconds every 5 minutes or so. Both fridge and freezer have heated up to 49 and 26 degrees through the night. Help!

ur compressor is trying to start but the safety is turning it off may have a bad compressor but try this first might get it working again -(safety click sound) disconnects power when compressor gets to hot or is drawing to many amps--stuck--comp gets hot unplug unit and clean with a vacuum carefully under where comp and fan are this is the condenser area after cleaning or 1 hr plug in and check for start and that condenser fan is working may be reason for overheating-if still not working compressor needs service

HELP! Frigidaire Fridge FRS26HF7BB0 losing coldness and buzzing

That noise is typical when the compresor is trying to start but it doesn't , it could be the condensing fan motor that doesn't work and the compresor goes off on overload ; a common problem with this compresors is the relay (mounted at the side of the compresor behind a black plastic cover) goes bad , this you can replace is about $20 , and if still the compresor won't start you will need to put another one and this is an expensive job.

Whirlpool upright freezer making buzzing noise and not working

I had a similar problem yesterday. I woke up and the freezer was not working anymore. It would make a buzzing noise and then it would click and shut off. I looked online for some possible solutions. Here is what I did:
I unplugged the fridge. I pulled it out and took off the cardboard backing. I used an air compressor to blow out all of the dust and dirt that had accumulated on the condenser coils. A shop-vac just wasn't powerful enough to pull out all of the dust/dirt. After that, I plugged it back in....and the same thing was happening. It would buzz, and then it would click off. I figured out that the "click" was coming from a starter relay (a small plastic piece attached to the big black compressor). I detached the plug from the relay and then detached the relay from the compressor. The relay was burned out. It turns out this is a common problem with the relay. I replaced the relay for $50 (from an appliance parts store) and put the whole thing back together in about 10 minutes.
I plugged the fridge back in and the compressor started, and now the freezer works better than other. I saved about $400 doing it myself, all in about one hour. And better yet, my wife was very impressed. Not bad for a doctor.

Freezer problem

Not sure of what cut out refers to. If you mean the power supply is tripped out after twenty secs hen I would say there is a fair chance of the compressor being down to earth (ie broken). If you mean that the compressor tries to run and then stops after twenty secs then there is a fair chance the compressor is stalled (ie broken). There is also a chance that the relay (starting device) may be at fault failing to start the compressor. If it is the relay then the cost may be around £70 if its the compressor then you are lookin at a couple of hundred pounds approx. The buzzing sound does sound like the compressor trying to run but stalled and unfortunately compressors have no real average anymore and are prone to fail whenever they choose to. Sorry to sound negative and hope this helps.
