My son has the fisher price baby grand piano, his friend also has it and the other babies piano moves it's hands and face and the music note makes noise my son's does not. Everything else works, keys and the speed up slow down just not the hands and face and music note. Do I have it assembled wrong?
I had exactly the same issue.
Seems there was a design change by Fisher Price in 2008.

Hi, we have exactly the same problem with our baby piano. The sun, hands and music note not moving or doing anything it suppose to do. Did you manage to get it fixed?
SOURCE: I would like to disassemble
Should just use a philips head screwdriver. All screws are probably on the bottom. All electronics are probably screw down to the top white part. Hope this helps.

I also have exactly the same problem. I have opened the piano up but I can't see anything obvious. It would be great if anyone has any ideas how to fix this.
Dear Fisher-Price, A friend of mine recently gave my husband a Fisher-Price baby grand piano to repair as the battery compartment had somewhat corroded. Needless to say, he was able to repair the piano and once in working order we noticed the hands and face above the musical book all began to move simultaneously. As we also own one of these piano's (hence why we recommended these to my friend for her baby) - I was shocked when I saw my friend's piano's hands and face begin to move along to the music, as ours had NEVER done this. I purchased this product 3.5 years ago from BIG W and it has NEVER had moving hands or face. As my husband is quite clever with electronics He pulled our piano apart and has noted that there is no motor drive at all where it should be, as there is in my friend's one. This is either a cost saving strategy or negligence from the factory worker. Either way, I am not satisfied with this product and I feel cheated that my daughter (now 4) and 7 month old son have not/will not experience the joy of the moving hands and face. I feel obliged to write to you and alert you and other owners of Fisher-Price baby grand piano's defect. I am requesting that you replace this with a fully functioning baby grand piano as your product description states. I can provide photographs if necessary however I am sure you are aware of this defect. Regards, Jane Keane Genia Kelley Kelley Like · · Share Chris Tulip likes this. Fisher-Price Hi Jane, a design change was made to the Laugh & Learn™ Baby Grand Piano back in 2008, and the Piano’s face and hands no longer move. April 3, 2013 at 4:44am · Like Julia Martin Did you also remove the function of the green musical note? Ours has absolutely no wiring to the note although I know other people's versions do include a metronome function. if so, why were these functions
We just received this piano and the sun doesn't move at all and the metronome does nothing. Is it the newer version or did we receive a broken unit? A: We received one for Christmas and the sun and metronome did not work. The first time I called the company they did not have an explanation. We returned and got another, but again the sun and metronome did not work. This time the company said that they changed it so the sun and note no longer work (as of Dec. 30, 2013). So disappointing :( see less
