Asko d3120 has flashing coffee cup. Some sort of motor or pump running continuously. Tub empty? Even when I open the dishwasher, the motor or pump noise just keeps going, and when I close the dishwasher, the coffee cup just keeps flashing.
The owner's manual refers to error codes F1-F6, but this dishwasher does not seem to have anything on it that could indicate any of these codes. Does anyone know what the flashing coffee cup means?
I had to slide the dishwasher forward (undercounter installation)and tip it forward as far as possible. Water leaks onto floor, but then the internal controller seems to reset and the ASKO now works normally again. What kind of idiot would design a control module that does not incorporate a power-off interlock? FAIL FAIL FAIL - Bad, ASKO, Bad. Go to your room.
The float switch or sensor seems to be stuck or tricked by the water in the tray below which is making the pump run continuously. I slid the washer out, removed the back panel, and mopped up all the water from underneath. When I plugged it back in the dishwasher worked as normal. What caused the leak I still have no idea.
Your trick works. I pulled the unit out and tipped it, while being careful not to break the attached hoses, and this reset the unit.
Because the flood sensor was tripped due to a leak so hint the error

Corrugated drain hose can get a fine split behind pump. Hard to see but will fill the bottom safety tray keeping pump on and coffee cup symbol on front panel. Easy fix . Part number 1692153. Many Asko models have interchangeable drain hose with a few numbers about.
Asko D3120 etc.
Super helpful advice thanks! Worked!!
I didn’t tip it all over the floor though - that just seemed crazy and I’m too lazy to clean up the mess - I just siphoned the water out with a hose. I placed it in the drain hole to get the lowest point and all the water out and filled a bucket on the floor.
I did try turning it back on at that point to no avail.
I then tipped it forward (I didn’t even pull it out just tipped it about 30 degrees) and tried again. Fixed.
I wonder if the water needed to be drained at all but just tipped a little to reset it?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the solution pulled machine forward then tilted forward some water spilled out then put power back on and works a per normal
These are great tips but here is an easier (less messy) way that worked for me.
1. Disconnect power (unplug).
2. Remove filter screen at bottom of basin.
3. There should be a bit of water at the very bottom of the cylindrical cavity below where the screen was. If you feel around the cylinder you will find at least two small holes where the water drains out. Stick your finger carefully in these holes and feel around. As you do this you may unstick the float.
4. Fill the cylinder with some water and vinegar (50/50) and replace the screens and filters.
5. Reconnect power and (hopefully) voil?! If the door is open the pump should not be functioning. Press the ON switch, close the door and if necessary, press the start/stop button. The pump will remove the water and vinegar you put in and then stop if it is functioning correctly.
6. If all works well, run a cycle with a bowl of vinegar to flush and clean the system, (Do this on a regular basis to keep machine in good shape).
If this procedure doesn't work, you can try the other methods. But if it does work (it did for me), it is very easy and much less messy.
Thanks, solution worked for me too. Dishwasher pump would continuously run as if it was draining but no visible water left in bottom. also had the flashing cup. Turning off at wall did not work. Pulled the whole unit out and tipped it forward, water everywhere but removing the excess water worked! Works fine now. Cheers
