Clicking Occasionally, after one burner is ignited, another burner will continue to click as if trying to light. I check to be sure the flame dispenser is on correctly and it continues. It may stop for a while and recurr.

Center front burner continues to spark after ignition.

Left front burner works but center front ignitor continues to spark even though dial is in off position.
Tried realigning burner rings, this did not help.
Came to this site before trying anything else.

My GE gas cook top is 5 years old. Suddenly, the right side of the ignitor would not spark. Instead the left side ignites and spark when I push the right side knob. (when I push the left side knob, only the left side ignites and spark)

In addition to polishing up the end of the igniter as mentioned above, remove the burner cap cover and and the round burner cap. As noted above, electrical contact or grounding is an important element in the spark igniter function. Any poor contact surface can cause the igniters to continue to spark after a burner lites. If everything seems in order, polish the underside of the aluminum burner cap and the top side of the aluminum burner base (where they come in contact with each other). This is part of the grounding circuit for the igniters. I used an "SOS" pad. In our case, these parts had tarnished with age. My wife was very happy when I fixed this one.

Tke the top of of the burner and make sure the nut below it holding the whole thing together is tight. Occasionally these cooktops will have that nut come loose, letting the flame leak a little air in or it will discolor the cooktop around the burner. If you have this discoloration, you probably need to take the whole thing apart and replace all the o rings, as the discoloration is usally from the flame leaking out under the cooktop. Also, take some fine sandpaper and polish up the end of the little igniter to make sure it can sense the flame properly. Last of all, how old is this model? A couple years (not exactly sure which models, call dacor) ago there were a few of these cooktops that hadclicking issues that just couldnt be fixed, and if your is the affected model/serial they may give you a new one.Good Luck!

Gas burner continues clicking after on and flame active.

many ovens are made to click like that and nothing is wrong with burner oven, its a safety measure to let you know gas is on or escaping. I f you turn the knob bac or forward a little bit it will go off and flame will still burn. Other words you may have a dirty spark igniter , see pics

My gas cooktop is contiuing a clicking sound to start the gas burner. it is not the color of the flame or that stuff. Just the starter keeps trying to start. the gas burner that is all. Blair

Hello Blair
Does the clicking or spark stop with all knobs in off position? If so it's probably the one burner valve for the one you're trying to light ,stuck in light mode, sending signal to module.Have that burner valve replaced.($50). (2) If clicking continues even though everything is off, it could be any one of the burner valves or your ignition module is messed up .You would have to pull wire off each burner valve one by one to find the offending valve . If not valves then suspect ignition module.
Easily fixed either way.

My ge monogram stove top burner( model zgu366h)continues to ignite. even after the flame is lit

If you are saying the clicking continues you must move the burner knob past the LITE position.
If it continues clicking with the knob past the LITE position the ignitor switch behind the knob is bad.

Gas burners won't light

Make sure the little tiny flash holes are open. They allow a little bit of gas to seep out so the igniter can light the burner. If you can light the burners with a match, check those holes.
If yours are the "sealed" type burners, make sure they are not a half a turn out (180° around)

Igniters are not working right

when you turn any burner control to lite all ignitors should click this is normal industry wide. the ignitors are controlled by switches that are placed over the valve shafts they are wired up together so thats why they all click when you only operate one valve don't worry about it. the ignitor stays on untill you back the valve off a tad this is also normal.

Igniter will not turn off once burners are lit.

I've had the same problem for 2 years. Today I removed the four burner tops, the 15/16 inch bolt that holds the burners in place, took everything apart (simple connections underneath), completely cleaned and dried eveything. I also cleaned the 4 knobs and making sure the 4 swiches slide up and down freely then dried everything with a hairdryer. Is now works fine but if the problem comes back, I'll simply unplug the cooktop and light it manually. P.S. I stripped one of the large 5/16 inch bolt that had become weak and brittle. - Try using water or some liquid to loosen the bolts as necessary. Good luck, CHEERS!

Clicking noise on cooktop even when all burners ignite

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.
