How can I delete Apps I do not want?

My phone came "pre-loaded" with many apps I would not use and I would like to delete them. How can this be done. It has become more important now as I have attempted to update apps I do want and the phone says I have run out of room. I would think deleting the apps I do not want would help this situation but if I can not delete the apps I do not want, what can be done to add additional memory?

SOURCE: 2S22I've had this phone since

Since you tested with a service representative from the wireless company side by side we will pass the topic of cellular signal.

The apps on the phone are going to take up two things:
1.) Ram- the memory that allows you to do multiple things quickly
2.) network access- your data transmission to cell phone towers or wifi

The EVO has an android operating system (froyo 2.2) and has quite a nifty app market. I personally recommend finding a high rated task killer and installing it. This app will help to terminate other applications every thirty minutes that may be taking up both RAM and cellular data.

Second step:
Connect to a wifi network and see if you still have the issue.

Third Step:
It doesn't really matter how many apps you have installed as long as they are not all running and using system memories at the same time. Check to see which apps are using the most system resources under system -> applications-> running. If you don't need the 3rd party apps that are using the most system resources, uninstall them and run the task killer.

SOURCE: slow, and internal memory almost full

The reason your phone is running so slowly is because the memory is almost full. Electronic devices like computers and phones need some space on their internal memory to perform basic functions with. When they don't have enough space, everything slows down.

The HTC Hero doesn't come with very much storage space (512MB) by default, but it can be expanded by adding a MicroSD card. To solve your problem, try following these steps:

  1. Delete your three or four apps. They can be redownloaded from the Android market at any time. Deleting them now will make your phone run at a reasonable speed again.
  2. Purchase a MicroSD memory card. 8GB cards are sold at very inexpensive rates in many major electronics retailers, superstores, and online. Here is a Google Shopping link to demonstrate: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=8GB%20microsd&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbo=u&tbs=shop:1&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf'
  3. Install the MicroSD card in your phone. The slot for it is located in the side of your phone, near the battery cover.
  4. Restart your phone.
  5. Reinstall your apps making sure to place them on the microSD card instead of internal memory.
This should fix your problems.

My Samsung Galaxy 2 keeps displaying the message "Unfortunately, Email has stopped" How can I delete the email app and other apps from the phone.

I'm afraid you can not delete or uninstall pre-loaded apps if your phone has not been rooted. I think e-mail app should be that.

What's your phone model, please? This might help to solve problem.

You can try following operations for now.

First, restart your phone.

Second, if it still don't work, then clear cache of email app by going to "Settings > Apps/Applications", find "All", scroll down to find "Email", tap in, tap "Clear cache" and "Clear data". You'd better back up email data if the data are important.

Third, try to factory reset your phone. Your phone will go back to the situation as you just got it.

Do anything at your own risk. Good luck.

How do I remove unwanted apps?

Although on most phones, you cannot delete all pre-installed apps, there are some where you can delete most. If you have an iPhone, chances are, you cannot delete pre-installed apps. To delete and app on an iPhone, press and hold on app for around 3 seconds. An "x" should pop up on the high right and you click on that to delete the app. If you have an android, go to your play store and manually uninstalling it.

Parental Control / Reinstall pre-loaded apps

Very upsetting, I agree! I factory reset yesterday and lost all my preloaded apps, the only way to get them back is to call tech support and have them do it. Unfortunately the number has been busy all day and tabeo website has been down on and off all day today. I will try again tomorrow. Good luck!
