Question about Nokia 6790 Surge Cell Phone
My Nokia 6790 is reconditioned. Just got it today. Sometimes it will turn on, but only for a short time. Then I'll try to turn it on again and you can tell the screen is working because it'll light up a little, but it's only a blank black screen. It also won't send text messages. I can call on it, but I can't text message, it won't stay on, and sometimes I can't get it to turn on. Can anyone help?
1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength.
2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery.
3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover.
4.Remove the battery.
5.Wait 10 seconds.
6.Press and hold the W key.
7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery.
•The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears
•Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds.

Yes I can help! You need to clear some memory. Delete all of your messages. Delete some pictures or videos, delete some wallpaper, etc. and your problem will go away.

If the SIM works fine in other phones, there is a phone issue. See if you're eligible for a warranty replacement (eligible if purchased new from AT&T within the last year or if purchased refurbished from AT&T within the last 90 days). If ineligible and you have insurance, use it... there will be a $50 deductible applied to your next bill. If ineligible and you haven't got insurance, get a replacement through somewhere like ebay or craigslist, upgrade (never EVER use wirefly or amazon, trust me) through AT&T preferably, or purchase a gophone (AT&T prepaid) from walmart, walgreens, wherever (If you go to RadioShack, they'll do everything for you). You just put your SIM in it and it will have your phone number and contract information... you don't have to sign up for prepaid service.

It looks like you changed your message center number and now you can not send messages.
Contact your network service provider customer care and they will provide you with the message center number.
When you get the new center number, go to your message settings, then enter your new message center number.
