what you should do is try using your cord on a similar laptop and observe if it will work or not. if it works you might be looking at changing your battery. i must state thought that i really don't think it's the battery. this is because laptop batteries tend to survive over a long period of time and the worst state of the battery is when you have to connect to a power source before using the laptop, when the battery no longer retains power. some though tend to just give up along the way and in a very short period of usage, these off course are not genuine batteries. so run the test above, it might be your adapter and not the battery.

You have to have factory remote to scan channels. Universial remote will not work.

Most failures on this TV are due to defective power supplies. If the TV does not turn ON, you should replace the power supply.

One of these boards are causing this problem, we have them in stock if you need them. the tv is programmed to shut down if all circuits are not functioning properly.

Are all the fonts unclear?

Even when you open a document such as word and notepad?

If the answer is yes, it might be that you've got a problem with your windows setting. maybe you should try adjusting as follows:

>click on properties on your desktop
>click on the appearance tab
>click on effects button
>check the box "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts"
>click on ClearType

If a brother printer wont turn on its usally a problem of the main pcb! Due to power or lighting strikes the microdevices might be shortcuted. Its cheaper to buy a new printer than to replace the board!
