Changing a fuse in a Galanz 700W Microwave Oven

The area along the upper-right side where the air vent is located is extremely small, and the fuse is very difficult to access.

What is the easiest way to change the fuse? I prefer not to take this to a service repair facility, where they would charge $20 to change a $3.00 fuse.

Is it really necessary to disassemble half of the inside components?

A microwave casing can be removed and almost full access to the electronics with about 6 screws.... make sure to unplug it from the wall first.

SOURCE: cold air from outside coming in house through vent

Sounds like your damper (flap) outside is working, and that's probably the first thing to check. Wind may be also pulling the damper open from time to time. Hopefully the pipe fitting is sealed, and the pipe is insulated anywhere it runs through any unheated portion of the house. Some amount of cold air getting in will be unavoidable. The best bet next might be to look over the two pages in the installation instructions that deal with outside venting. If you don't have the installation instructions, you can get a copy here: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ Then if you don't notice any obvious problems with the installation, it may be time to contact the installer for their two cents.

SOURCE: Changing light bulb in microwave oven

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (and the owner's manual doesn't address it) some disassembly may be required.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

SOURCE: Galanz Microwave Oven - Unable to disable child lock

Galanz's website seems to be useless. I tried finding information but kept being told "no data available." So while I can't tell you where to find the manual, here's something to try. Most microwaves get put into lock by pressing and holding one of the buttons for longer than normal, or by pressing one of the buttons several times in a row. Some ovens use the TIMER button. It won't be one of the number keys, but one of the function buttons. So start with a button, press and hold it for at least 5 seconds before you let go. If nothing happens then try another button. If that doesn't solve the problem, then try pressing each function key several times before moving on to the next one. If that still doesn't get it going, maybe a store in your area that sells Galanz will take a look at the book for you. The process should be the same for any similar model.

Where is the serial number on my galanz microwave air fryer ?

They are usually at the rear where the power lead goes in. This will state the maker, the address, the voltage and watts, the model number and serial number. That is a statutory requirement. In some circumstances they are in the door frame rebate but not so common where heat is involved.

How to set clock on air fry microwave by galanz

For the Galanz 1.2 cu. ft. ToastWave, GTWHG12BKSA10, you need to press and hold the Clock/Timer pad for 3+ seconds. If needed, press again to switch between 12 and 24 hour clock options. Then rotate the dial until the correct hour is displayed. Press one of the following: the dial, Start or Clock/Timer to save the current hour. Rotate the dial to set the current minutes. Again, press the dial, Start or Clock/Timer to save the current minutes. To exit the clock setting mode, press Stop/Cancel.

HomeDepot has the manual for this microwave/air fryer on the product page: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Galanz-1-2-cu-ft-Countertop-ToastWave-4-in-1-Convection-Oven-Air-Fry-Toaster-Oven-Microwave-in-Black-GTWHG12BKSA10/310997710 . The current link to this manual is https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/e8/e87f4420-a777-460f-901f-faa70016a38f.pdf . See page 9 for the directions to set the clock.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your microwave/air fryer if the above steps don't work.

I have an LG Microwave. A Week back i mistakenly microwaved sausages for 20 min. They got burnt and the microwave also started stinking. i aired it out and microwaved a cup of water twice on separate...

Hi hafsahparkak,

Plz follow the steps below once again ...hope it works if not plz revert:
  • 1

Unplug the oven and unfasten the cabinet body, using a screwdriver. The body should be attached along the back as well as along the sides or bottom.

  • 2

Slide the cabinet body back slightly to clear any internal brackets, then lift it off.

  • 3

Clean the oven, using a vacuum with plastic crevice attachment. Vacuum the fan and other internal parts, then vacuum the vents underneath the oven, on the back and inside the chamber.

  • 4

Reassemble the oven and plug it in.

  • 5

Fill a small bowl with a 50-50 mixture of water and white vinegar, then set it in the oven and turn the oven on high for 5 minutes. When the mixture boils, it will remove stubborn smells inside the vents and loosen food particles on the oven walls.

  • 6

Wipe down the oven walls with a clean sponge.

WERE IS MODEL NUMBER ON KEMNORE RANGE?

The model numbers on most Kenmore ranges will be located on a nameplate along the oven door, or lower drawer opening. Some models may have this information on the back of the operator console.

If this question is in reference to a microwave oven, the model number will be located along the oven door opening, or inside the oven cavity along the upper portion on either the left or right hand side.

If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Wife ran for 14 min w/out anything in it changed fuse no luck

You need to change the cavity thermostat. The unit got too hot and blew the cavity thermostat. If this is a vent-a-hood model, it will be up under the vent housing at the top (must drop microwave to change) and if built-in, it will be on the left side under the outer cover. Just remove the screws from the back and sides and right along the edge along the bottom sides. Will have 2 wires going to it from each side. Just replace thermostat and reattach molex plugs. Then retest. Should be fine after that.

I have a GE SPACEMAKER MICROWAVE OVEN MODEL #HVM1750. IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING..NO SIGNS OF POWER. THE OUTLET HAS POWER. DOES IT HAVE AN INTERNAL FUSE. HAT COULD IT BE? ERIC

You know that you have to unplug the microwave first, right? Then you have to either wait a good while (I like a couple of days) or short out the current.

The fuse is located on the right side, behind the control panel at the top. You have to remove the vent cover (three screws) in the front, then the screws holding the control panel up ( I didn't remove mine, I let it rest on a pot to take the weight off the connectors). The fuse is on a small horizonal electronic board located 6 inches behind where the top of the control panel normally is attached.

You do NOT have to remove the oven, but it's small hands work, or great needle nose. You get the fuses for about 3 for $2.00 at Radio Shack.

But I bet that isn't you whole problem. Something caused it to blow.
