My Nokia E5 mutes the incoming call so I can hear the caller randomly, anyone know why or has this happened to you

When I recieve an incoming call or make one, randomly the ear speaker stops working, I can switch to the speaker phone, so all can hear and this is the only way I can listen. On the next call it will work fine. It does this for a while and then no speaker works. I have had this happen to my 1st Nokia E5 and now it's begining with the new E5, after about a month.

SOURCE: Nokia E65 microphone doesn't work

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Did you accidentally dropped the Nokia E65? Well, on this error, you shoudl bring your unit to a service center to further check the hardware error such as the microphone. However, be sure that whenever you make calls you have the network signal high so that you can have quality voice calls.

If you need further assistance, let me know

There are a couple of causes:- 1, Faulty Earpiece speaker, change the earpiece... 2, Faulty Ribbon/Flex, it connects the phones main PCB to the screen, the top keypad the front camera and the earpiece, a kink or tear in this can cause any of those to malfunction. Change the ribbon/flex 3, If its only happening when a certain person calls you, the problem could be at their end and they're microphone might be faulty on their handset... 4, Less common but there are IC's that control the sound on the 6500 these could be faulty or have dry solder, these can be either reflowed or replaced.

SOURCE: nokia 6085 speaker problem

It is the microphone that needs to be replaced. Usually it can be replaced no problem, I have done so on the Nokia 6085 myself. But yes, the reason the bluetooth works is because it has its own mic and the mic for the handset has gone bad.

SOURCE: incoming caller id is not working on my new nokia

Did you try to restore factory settings ? If not , then do it . If yes , then update your firmware with Nokia Pc Suite ! that should solve the problem . Here i'll explain you , how to restore factory settings : Switch-off your phone.

1. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.

Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

2. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your phone will back to original system and factory settting.

rate please ! best regards . P.s : You'll lose every infos on your device after restoring , so back everything up before doing that !

I have a Nokia E5, only a few months old. When receiving calls, I am unable to hear the caller. They can hear me perfectly though. Please help

Did you drop your phone? It seems that your phone's caller speaker is damaged thats why you can't hear the caller. If this is the problem then the only solution is to replace the speaker. Hardware is not covered under warranty, but you should check with the warranty provider. Otherwise, take it to any mobile repair shop and ask them to change the speaker.

Hi in my cell nokia 1100 when i cal someone i can hear the recievers sound but the reciever cannot hear mine so show me fast suggestion

Hi, what makes when you call someone you can hear the caller and when the caller calls you, you will not hear the person, is because the mouth piece of the phone is damaged and will need to be replaced.

The mouth piece is located at the lower part of the phone inside the phone.Very easy to locate.

Use the below link to know how to disassemble Nokia 1100.

formymobile.co.uk/1100disassembly.php

At the tip area where you insert your charger in, remove the whole panel and replace and your done.

Hope it helped.

Thanks for using fixya...

For incoming calls the phone rings but I cannot hear the caller. The volume is set to the maximum. For outgoing call I cannot hear the ring tone nor the person receiving the call.

Sounds like you reciever speaker is out. It might be cheaper to get a new phone than fix this one. Check with out a local cell repair store to see what they charge then make an informed decision.
