My HP Officejet Pro L7580 prints one page and then stops

I'm using Vista and the HP Officejet Pro L7580 printer on a wireless network. The printer is wired via ethernet to the router, but the computers are wireless. From my Vista laptop, I'll print from any program and the print will sit in the spooler and after a few minutes it says "printer-error". In order to get the print to go through, I have to restart my computer, then it will print. From our Windows XP computers, there is no problem. Also from a Vista desktop computer, no problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software at least 3 times on my laptop and it does not help. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? The problem seemed to start happening after I installed an HP update for the software. Thanks!

My hp officejet pro L7580 is connected to DOT4 port, there's a hp officejet pro L7580fax connected to USB002. I want officejet pro L7580 connected to USB002, NOT the L7580fax. My desktop is not...

To walk you through I'd need to know the OS you are running, but the generic answer is that you need to go into the print driver, and in the Printer Properties, under the ports tab , select the USB002 port rather than the DOT4 port and Apply the changes.

Can i make my printer HP Officejet Pro L7580 wireless?

The printer will work with a wireless network, but you will have to set up your router or AP to broadcast a wireless signal, then configure the printer to communicate with the access point. Please see this HP support article, and this home support page for your printer. (or choose from here.)
Then, depending on your particular operating system, read about setting up a home wireless network here by choosing your os and then searching the help & how-to page for wireless networking or setting up a wireless network. You will find step by step instructions. Also check the support site for your router or AP, as they will have instructions specific to your router.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

I have network printer with scanner. Model is hp officejet pro L7580 printer. I installed a printer sucessfully but I want to use printer scanner. So how to install scanner & use it?

Hello!
In order to install your scanner, you need to print a test page. As you need to align the cartridges, you also need to align your scanner. See the printed alignment page for directions on how to complete the alignment process. Basically, all you have to do is put the test page in the scanner and press scan.
