I had the same problem for my E250 Sandisk it froze. If all else fails I suggest removing the back plate of the mp3 , remove the battery then re-installed the battery, put plate back again and re-start your mp3. It should start fine it worked for me. But thank you Karla G. for your suggestion.

Slide the on/off switch up and hold for 15-20 seconds. The player will turn off. Simply turn it back on. The player will be reset.

See, the problem for mine is that it keeps turning on, but it won't go completely on, it turns on, then freezes, and turns on again. When I hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, it just turns off. And when I try turning it on again, it does the same thing as before.
Please help!

I must say, holding down the power button on my Sansa Rhapsody 280e Player saved the day! Thank you, Karla! My screen had frozen in the "updating database mode" and I could not turn off the unit, nor did switching the hold button. I think my microSD card may have slid out of its port during this process. When I got home, I backed up all of my files from the card onto my PC and held down the power button for about 15 seconds. The unit turned off and then rebooted successfully. I put the card back in and everything is back to normal. :-)

How do i reset my mp3 player its just frozen?

How Do I Fix My Sony MP3 Player That Froze & Won't Turn On?

Sony Walkman MP3 players, like most MP3 players, can occasionally freeze up and stop working properly. Fortunately, there are two simple ways of resetting the Walkman system. The first method takes only 10 to 15 seconds to complete and is an effective way to troubleshoot most technical problems you may have with your Walkman. The second method, unfortunately, may take several hours; it requires you to allow the battery to drain completely. Whatever the problem is that's causing your MP3 player to freeze, one or both of these methods should clear it up.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* Paperclip
* Walkman MP3 player charger

Reset Button

Straighten the paperclip and set it aside for now.
Locate the reset button on your Sony MP3 player. On most models, it can be found near the volume control mechanism.
Insert the end of the paperclip into the reset button and hold it down for three to five seconds. When the screen flickers, you'll know that the MP3 player's system has been reset.
Remove the paperclip and wait for the system to reboot.

Battery Drain

Turn on your MP3 player.
Let the battery's life deplete. Since the system is frozen and no music is being played, this will take longer than usual.
Check that the battery is completely depleted. Sometimes the screen just goes dark during this process, but the battery is not actually drained. You can check this by pushing buttons or trying to power up the system.
Connect your MP3 player to its charger and plug it in to a power source. Allow the MP3 player to fully recharge.

Power on the MP3 player. The system should be operating normally again.

About freezing logo

Well, at first it was freezing for me, no matter how many times I hit the reset button.

It may have just been leaving it on for a while, after hitting the Hard reset ((Ie holding the reset button for five seconds or more)). I'm not entirely sure; it may have just been luck.

Turning on

jhm - reformat

everyone else

hardware issue = replace the player. sorry.

Last ditch effort:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

There are no repair svcs for this product.

Sansa e250 freezes!

This should take care of it;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.
