My central air unit is not cooling properly. What happens is it runs for a while, but shuts off before cooling down to the set temp. Also, reportedly the unit frosts up creating a puddle around it. Someone suggested a bad valve, can anyone give me more detail on this?
SOURCE: Carrier Air Conditioner, cool air then runs luke warm air
Have you checked the freon level in this unit? If you are low or there is a leak it could be the problem. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: Central air conditioner will not turn on at all.
I understand this to be a heat pump. Check your thermostat settings, and the filters. And make sure a breaker isn't tripped.
SOURCE: Cool air from Carrier unit barely blows out vents, unit stays on
undersized is just that...you and I got taken to the cleaners.but i did put an adjustable vent in the cod air return vent duct next to the floor...it helped mine but i say some installers should.....well you know
SOURCE: AC is running continously but it is not cooling.
You mean the evaporator has no condensate? Is the condensor hot? It sounds to be in need of servicing. The temp coming out of the evaporator should be 10 to 20 degrees cooler than the air in the room which is being blown through the evaporator to be cooled. No condensation, either low humidity or no refrigerant in system. You may need to call an a/c repair. Good Luck, Ned---- The condensor is the outside unit and there should be no water coming from it and it should be blowing hot air
