Yes it will as long as you keep the speeds the same and the pin count on the ram the same

I have a latitude D600 and I am now getting the 'disk read error' after installing a new larger than 137 GB hard drive. I know (now) I need to upgrade the BIOS to see the larger hard drive, bu

Unless Dell has the upgrade for the bios to include the larger hardware you are going to be in trouble, I would go online to Dell and check for upgrades to your model if they still support it. The other option is contact customer and technical support to see it they can give you a alternative solution.

Please does Dell Latitude D600 support Windows 7 especially for the wireless because i am considering upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7. Thanks

Officially it is not compatible, but I've heard it can work.

However, if you still decide to try, I must warn you:
You'll encounter countless problems with the drivers, which some of you'll have to download manually from the internet. Otherwise some of the features won't work, f.ex the Wi-Fi.

It would be better to leave it be or consider linux.

WHAT KIND OF RAM DOES A DELL LATITUDE D600?

Hi,

That would probably be DDR-333 (PC2700) Notebook Memory. I believe a DDR-400 wil also work since it should be backwards compatible.

You should be able to order Dell parts online using this link

http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cat=prod&cs=04&k=latitude+d600+memory&rpp=12&p=1&rf=all&nk=f&ira=False&~srd=False&ipsys=False&advsrch=False&~ck=tab

You will need to register with the Dell Online shop first though :)

Upgrade RAM in a Latitude D600. one bay seems to fail

The memory bay is a part of the motherboard. Try each stick in each bay to make sure that the problem is the motherboard itself. Sometimes memory is incompatible with a particular laptop. Sometimes there is a maximum allowable memory. The maximum for your PC is 2 GB.

Dell Latitude D600 - RAM not recognized

One of the DIMMS might be incompatible or faulry.
Put one DIMM in at a time to determine which is not working.
If they both work separately then it appears they are incompatible together. Try to get the DIMMs from the same manufacturer, with the same specs.

Processor

Pentium M 2.0 ghz if you update the bios. You would need Dell 600 Bios & that should be available on the Dell website under the support section. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

I want to up grade my RAM

I'm afraid the highest frequency ram for your laptop is DDR 333. The highest capacity is 1024MB DDR333, 333MHz, PC2700, 200 pin SODIMMs.
