Princeton Digital VL1717 (Black) LCD Monitor, sudden loss of audio?

I have already done all the obvious trouble shooting procedures in order to resolve the loss of sound/audio on my computer through the Princeton Digital VL1717 (Black) LCD Monitor speakers. I have gone through all the Hardware diagnostics/tests ad nausea and I'm unable to find out why there is no sound, not even a little "chime" sound can be heard. So, my question is how should I proceed from here, and is there a sound/audio driver that Princeton Digital VL1717 (Black) LCD Monitor installs that I can reinstall or locate to update etc. Thank you for reading, I will be grateful to read your response.

Describe your (VL1916) 19" LCD

Did you try this monitor with another PC and already verify that the VGA cable is OK.
Common problem with Princeton monitors are due to bad DC filter capacitors in the power supply board, see example here:

Very faded. hard to read the screen

Try the monitor on another PC. If it is the same way, the TFT Matrix screen itself is Failing; You will have to replace the screen. TCC

Nothing on screen, black, when on

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed PRINCETON monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

When i connect my monitor to my laptop it shows the monitor is not picking up any signal. why can't i see anything?

Did you use the Fn key and either F5, 6, or 7 to select the internal, external, or both? It depend on the make and model of the laptop.

No audio for Princeton monitor...

You connect the AUDIO LINE OUT (Green jack) from PC to AUIDO LINE IN on the monitor using mini stereo male to male phone jack. You will need to adjust the volume control at the PC and at the monitor.

The monitor shuts off. Turning the power off

the monitor is going into power saving mode ... it can happen if it is not receiving any signal from the pc ( pc is not running or booted properly, bad video cable connection monitor to pc) or the pc is itself in suspend/standby mode.

My LCD Monitor is blinking on & off constantly

It may need a different outlet, if it is not getting proper power. Small chance that the video cable has gone bad, but more likely the monitor is damaged. But try those two things and call Princeton.
