Nokia e71 lock code

Press the keey on the left side of shift key. it will change the entry into num mode. press 112 and press dial button (green phone button). It will show connecting press end call button. Now the set should be in normal mode.

I had the same problem and tried this:

Tools Required :
• Nemesis Service suite (NSS)
• Nokia PC Suite
• Data cable

Steps :

1. Connect your phone in PC Suite mode
2. Open Nemesis Service suite (NSS)
3. Then click on scan for new devices button (top right hand side)
4. Click on phone info button.
5. Now Click on Scan.
6. Select Permanent Memory.
7. Click on Read.

8. It will read the permanent memory file and save it on the disk at following path.
C:\Program Files\NSS\Backup\pm\<IMEI>.pm

9. Open the .pm file using Notepad.
10. Now scroll until field [308], and on the 5th Record (5=) your security code is saved at there.
11. Like 5=31313131310000000000
12. Remove all “3” digit and it will be 31313131310000000000
13. 11111 is your security code.

My security code was the default 12345 so it was unchanged.
Go to Tools, Factory Settings, choose Full Factory, Reset
Reboot your phone and put in date and time -> the question for the security code is disappeared

Lock code - 12345 - unless you have changed it

New E71-2 (North America) owner here who bought an Ebay special that the previous owner "factory reset" and had the "screen lock". when I got it. I tried all the "easy" fixes I could find (default code, hard/soft resets, green/3/* power on, etc) to no avail. Really can't do much when your keypad is locked! Finally got desperate enough to try Nemesis as suggested in solution #3. My result?---Guess what, code WAS the default 1-2-3-4-5 and STILL my phone wasn't accepting it for whatever reason...go figure

So, many frustrating hours later, here's what I came up with from from my "research" and "experiments".....

Temporary fix-
Calling 112 and quickly hanging up (Careful here-as this may be an emergency # in certain parts of the world). This will clear lock code-until you off/on the phone. Then it's back

Permanent fix-
If you went as far as trying Nemesis to get your code and STILL no joy give this a shot (I really just stumbled on this, but hey, it worked!) While in Nemesis and Nokia suite (follow solution #3) , go to "tools", factory settings tab, and click "full factory" and then "reset"

That's all it took- LOCK SCREEN GONE BABY!

This solution does require usb connection with Nokia suite and Nemesis, so you'll have to use the temp solution in conjunction to access phone keypad/menu and change usb settings to connect phone to pc

You can find Nemesis (NSS) on the web, (it's a freebie), no instructions (that I could find), but not too hard to use... or there's always Nokia service!

To reset your Lock Code...Just download Nokia Suite Store and use Refurbish option. Refurbish will reset your phone as manafacture thus removing the Lock Code.

The default is 12345, if you cannot open it, then the previous owner had changed it. there is a possibility to hack the firmware but it is better to send to Nokia Service Center to do so.

It is 12345, but be sure to hold shift key while keying. So you are entering the numbers. Otherwise the phone takes your entry as alphabets and it won't accept it.

Once you have keyed five wrong consecutive attempts, the phone will not accept even the right lock code after 5 mins, so wait another 5 minutes to figure out the lock code, just tried it now.
for example: let's assume that the right code is "12345"
but you entered 00000 on five consecutive attempts, and then you entered the right code which is "12345" the phone won't accept it, even if it is the right code... just wait for 5 minutes and try again. this is out of my personal experience.

I had a problem with lock codes my Nokia N61 would not accept the default 12345 code, kept saying code not correct, I tried everything, had to wait 5 minutes each time I entered it 5 times incorrectly. What finally worked for me was not to use the shift key so I was typing in the corresponding letters and not number "rtyfg" - silly I know but worked for me!

I tried using nemesis as described. I reached until read in permanent memory stage. but the pm file is empty in my program files. Cant find <IMEI>.pm there Any solutions please?
