I bought an unbranded nokia 5310 that was unlocked and it worked fine with my AT&T sim as far as calls and texts, but the internet and MMS do not work. When I called support, they basically said they'd never heard of the 5310 and attempted multiple times to adjust settings on their end using my phone's serial number, but to no avail. When I try to set up the configuration settings for mms messages or the web, I just get an error that no settings found contact your provider.
Nevermind! I found the solution. You just have to go to nokia.com and choose your phone and you can have them text the MMS and web settings directly to your phone and then you simply save the settings and after I did this, no problems. Works like a charm now! Stupid AT&T customer service.... Grrr.
You should check MMS profile setting. The proper setting should be configured before sending or receiving MMS. To retrieve the MMS automatically, you should set the settings at "Auto download" settings. To check,
1. Go to Message from the idle screen.
2. Go to "Settings" and then "Multimedia messages."
3. Select "Receiving options" and "Home network."
4. Go to "Foreign network" menu and check the status
5. If it is set at "Auto download", you can receive MMS automatically.
6. If it is set at "Manual", you should operate MMS retrieve function manually.
