If your mistral has a sunroof, and you have had a windscreen replaced, it's possible the drain pipe has pulled off the sunroof guttering. The water travels over the head lining and down the door pillar to the footwell. Especially if parked downhill!

I used a few centimetres of garden hose to join from the sunroof gutter to the original gutter pipe. Get at it by removing a few hex key screws and lifting the sunroof out.

SOURCE: Water in Passenger footwell

Hi,
Tracking water leakage in cars is often not easy. However, in your case, I would start with the windshield. Was it recently replaced? If so, the seal might not be fine. Check the windshield rubber trim cover that runs around the top and bottom of the windshield to see if it is coming off from the frame of the car. It doesn't take much for water to get behind it if it is even slightly up.

While you are doing that, check around the top of the door frame. Many a time, water will travel down the contour of the door by the hinges and enter the footwell area if the rubber gasket has been compromised in any way.

Finally, check to make sure that the firewall of the vehicle does not have any rusted hole or improperly installed rubber bushing or gasket on the firewall that could allow water to run along any wires or cables there and trickle into the vehicle. I hope I have been able to help you with this problem. Good luck.

SOURCE: saab 93 convertable, Rain water fills the drivers

I am not sure if it is the same problem I had with my '04 93 SS, but there is a cabin air filter that has a drain next to it that allows the rain water to run down to the ground. Mine was clogged up with leaves and other junk which caused the rain water to leak through the filter into the cabin. Being that yours is a different body style, your filter may be on the drivers side which would cause this. I would try to look up where your Cabin Air Filter is and try to clean the drain.

SOURCE: water leak into driver footwell

Hi, I've had this problem and spent hours with my Wife watering the front scuttle area with the wipe mechanism removed. I hope at last I've narrowed it down to an area where the brake booster to attached to the firewall. Rather than take it out I've used a cleaning gun on a compressor and fired heaps (and heaps) or black soundproofing tarry solution down around, in and about the right side as you look from the front. Certainly at this stage the water running inside has decreased markedly and I've given it one last blast this morning. I'm optimistic this will cure.

My 05 corolla is kept in uncovered storage outdoors and due to my current job it does not move alot. Recently (last 4 months) Every time I go into the car after it rains heavily there is pooled water...

first park your car where the back is flat then spray with a water hose on the back widow only and if you still have water go to a glass shop and let them seal your glass properly water is going in the car because there is a leak in the is or when you drive in the rain the water is coming up in the wheel well

Water pouring into 98 passat help needed urgently please

The vw Passat are known for this problem, you will usually find a crack on the plastic panel at the bottom of the windscreen, or else this same panel is incorrectly fitted. In this case alot of rain will get in through the pollen filter and through the heater box and lodge in the front footwell.
