Knobs are distorting with heat

The knobs on my stoves range cooker keep being distorted by heat is this normal or has the newer cookers been modified to stop this happening, I have replaced the knobs three times while I have owned this cooker over the last 9 years.

It sounds like either a bad design or a leaking seal, the knobs are above the oven?If it is the door might not be sealing good allowing heat from the oven to escape upwards heating up the knobs. It is not normal.

SOURCE: GE Profile gas range - stove works, oven doesn't heat

Set the oven for bake. Wait a couple minutes and look in the oven. If you see a orange glow the ignitor is working, but, may need to be replaced.
If you see no orange glow the ignitor definitely needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: Vollrath induction cooker is not working. The display reads F9. Model # is 59500.

The range does not recognize the pan material. Only ferrous (magnetic) cookware will work with induction. This is a protection circuit to only heat proper cookware. When all else fails read the instruction book or call the service department for the manufacturer...save time, reduces frustration and assures safe operation. Good Luck

Why are cooker knobs melting on my belling gas cooker

If the pan is located on a front ring and the hnob is directly in front of it the pan could be directing the heat towards the front, where the knob is.
Or ....could be a bit of bad design?

Cooker hood

Look around on the hood and cooker for a small fuse. If you find one, replace it with one of the same type and rating.

Stoves df 600 sidom

We had ours fitted by a Stoves engineer who said he had the same cooker. He also told us that sometimes the fan will stay on after you have finished using it. The reason is, there will still be heat coming from the cooker or grill after use. For that reason, the fan stays on for a bit afterwards. Its just a safety precaution so that the knobs dont get too hot.

We cannot open the pressure cooker

If it's one of the newer ones that the lid turns to lock, try re-heating to pressure. Then when it gets to pressure, turn off the stove. Let it cool, when the pressure pin in the handle drops to let you know there is no pressure inside. Try and remove the lid. Sounds like the lid is vacuum locked.

Pressure cooker safety

From the point of view of the pressure cooker, there shouldn't be any problem at all provided you follow the pressure cooker instructions.

From the point of view of the stove, the only thing you might want to watch out for is point loading - some older pressure cookers can get a bit domed at the bottom. On a flat surfaced stove, this will concentrate all the weight of what is after all quite a heavy pot onto a small part of the stove top. If the bottom of the pressure cooker is still nice and flat, I don't see any problem.

The cooker stays warm when mains cooker switch is on.

Either teh grill element or the oven heating element is fault or the thermostat or grill regulator, locate which element is warm, if the grill then it is most likely the regulator, if it is the oven it is the thermostat. Engineer
