After locking my soft top Jeep and setting the alarm for the night, a few hours later the alarm starts chirping, maybe 8-10 times then stops. 5 minutes later does it again. If I go outside and turn off the alarm and then turn it back on it stops the random false alarms,,,,,,,,for now.
The alarm is the Viper 350HV with the interior motion sensor. I had the install tech dial down the sensor so it wouldn't start chirping untill someone was actually touching the Jeep or putting a hand in the window. The alarm is the Viper 350HV with the interior motion sensor.

Re: Why does my viper alarm suddenly start chirping?
Mine does that too (chirps 8 times), every 4 to 8 hours or so (seems to be random but persistent). The alarm was installed November 2014 and I just started noticing it in May 2015, possibly because I am now within earshot of where my car is parked?

If the Viper Alarm app is showing that the alarm is "Not Armed" but the vehicle is locked, it is possible that the alarm system is not communicating properly with the app.
One solution is to try resetting the alarm system by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes help to reset the communication between the alarm system and the app.
If this does not work, it may be necessary to contact Viper customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide troubleshooting tips or suggest a software update for the app or alarm system.

hi I have the viper 7142v alarm system, tge problem is I only had one remote,I ordered a spare but ... My alarm only chirps when i am programming lock and unlock functions. it does not ... As soon as I connect car battery my alarm goes off. ... I obviously don't have a remote, and it doesn't have a valet switch.
First thing is to trip the system to see if the siren works then. If it does, then perhaps you inadvertently set the chirp commands to silent. If the siren doesn't work when the system is tripped then that's your problem. You'll need to find the siren and troubleshoot possible causes. I'd start with the wiring but the siren could have simply gone bad. You should be able to test it easily with a test light or multi-meter.
Open door, turn ignition on then off. Press aand hold programming button until you hear one chirp. After you hear the chirp, release programming button, press and release button one then press and hold. You will hear one chirp. While holding the programming button, press lock button on remote to change option. One chirp is active arming(what you currently have), Two chirps is passive arming without locks, Three chirps is passive arming with locks. Turn ignition on to exit programming. Test system.
Your alarm is is in valet. to take the alarm out of valet with the remote: open any door. Press lock, unlock, lock. The LED should be off now. Close the door and lock the doors with remote. The alarm should chirp to confirm that it is armed.
OR
Turn the key on then off. Within ten seconds press and release the valet switch. The LED should be off now. Close the door and lock the vehicle with the remote. The alarm should chirp to confirm that it is armed.
sounds like the alarm went into valet mode. that's usually what a solid blue light means on most viper alarms. check your owners manual on how to take the alarm out of valet mode. with the 5701 alarm its usually done with the remote. hope this helps
