Are you sure of the model number? I don't see a Whirlpool GB2FHGXB01 ; I do see a model GB2FHDXWB01.

For this model, there are several different door handles. One has a Philips head screw hidden under a trim piece. To expose the screw firmly push the trim away from the center of the handle. (This is for a standard Whirlpool fridge door handle.)

The French door style refrigerators have slightly different door handles. One uses Allen screws as set screws to secure the handle. (This screw needs a 3/32" Allen screw (hex key) and you can access it through a small hole in the underside of the handle on the loose side.) Be careful not to overtighten the screw or you may strip the threads and have to replace parts.

The other option has the handle mounted on brackets on the door. To access the bracket, grasp the freezer handle and pull it to the left. Then pull the handle away from the refrigerator.

For pictures of the handles, see pages 9 and 10 of the manual. It's available here: https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/User%20Instructions%20-%20W10366204.pdf .

I hope this helps. If you do have the GB2FHGXB01, check if any of these directions help. Most refrigerators use one of the above door handle designs.

The freezer handle is loose on one side. How can

Check to see if your freezer handle has an inlay in the handle or trim that pops off to get at a screw that holds the handle onto the door. If you don't have this then you may have a handle that literally slides up and off. You then tighten the mounting screws or replace the handle if that is what is making it loose. We no longer can tear apart the doors on refrigerators to get at components inside, because the factory puts these together and shoots liquid insulation into the cavity, and this insulation expands and hardens making it impossible to tear doors apart anymore. This is why most handles now are front repairable. Good Luck. Appliance Specialists

Loose handle on door

The door handles mount on hex bolts sticking out of the door, the door handles have key hole inserts that match with the bolts. The door handles are then slid in one direction to lock the handles in place. Removal is the reverse. To tighten the door handle screw the bolt out enough that you can still put the handle over the bolt heads and slide the handle to lock the handle in place.

Bottom freezer door handle loose

There is a plastic card that you are supposed to slide under the right side of the handle. Once you have done this correctly the whole handle should slide off to the left.
