Just pull down on the original metal foot. It will snap off and then you can snap on the button hole foot. Good luck!

I can never find parts and presser feet for necchi model 4900. Which more commonly found necchi uses the same parts as my model?

It looks to me as if it is a low shank and Amazon sells lots of low shank presser feet. I have bought the sets and they work great. They have a 52 piece set for about $32. As for parts, what do you need?

Hi where can I get instructions spare feet and Cotton holder for a necchi 215a

This will help you determine which presser foot shank you need for your machine. Once you know which shank fits your machine, you can purchase extra presser feet most anywhere:

As for a replacement spool pin, you can probably take your machine to a sewing machine repair shop and they can fix it for you.

Will not feed the material through

Be certain the presser foot lifter handle is down so that it holds the fabric from the top. Then make sure the feed dogs (the little toothy looking things under the presser foot) are up or engaged. Often we'll accidentally knock the adjustment button/lever and the feed dogs go down into the machine and will not come up to provide the pulling action to feed the fabric through. Make sure the mechanics inside the machine are clean and free of dust. And if you see what seems to be a piece of felt around the feed dogs, that is actually lint and prevents the fabric from moving through easily. Use the brush that came with the machine to clean the feed dogs. Hope this helps and happy stitching!

I cant get my fabric to feed in my machine

feed dog & the presser foot must work togeather for the fabric to feed thru the machine
you should be able to see the feed dog when you look at the needle plate
open the door to the light that's were you'll find the needle bar adjuster that puts pressure on the presser foot,,it may be in the shape of a star or just round,,mine is set between the 2-3,,your may have numbers or letters,, adjust the it & then try to sew

The stitches are really tight

If you can't adjust the bobbin tension, adjust the top tension. Also the lower thread needs to be pulled to your left (away from presser foot) before you start sewing, this avoids tangles.

Using a walking foot on my Necchi 3537

Hi JoEllen,
The walking foot replaces the normal pressure foot on your machine. There is a screw on the left-hand side of the pressure shaft that holds the ankle (if your Necchi uses snap-on feet) on the shaft. Loosen this screw until the pressure foot (or the pressure foot/ankle combination) comes off. Now slip the walking foot on where the other foot came off and tighten that screw. You're ready to go!

No instructions how do you tread the machine?

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} all machines thread the same. TTN tension, take up, needle.
Beginning with the spool, guide the thread through the thread guides to the tension assembly. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it passes this test, continue up through the take up lever, then down through the thread guides to the needle. Make sure your needle is fully inserted and turned the correct way.FLAT to the BACK.

Making a buttonhole on a Necchi 3204 sewing machine

Here's what the manual says:

Before sewing, fit the button-hold foot to the machine (long white plastic thing with red, ruler like markings).

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the left hand side. Set the dial to "1" position. Sew the left side and raise the needle.

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the top and bottom. Set the dial to "2" position. Sew 5-6 stitches and raise the needle.

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the right hand side. Set the dial to "3" position. Sew the right side. Raise the needle.

Select the pattern selector dial that is solid green on the top and bottom. Set the dial to "4" position. Sew 5-6 stitches and raise the needle.

Hope that helps...
