Brother 5250DN goes to sleep and will not wake up

My Brother 5250DN goes into sleep mode, and then, on occasion, will not wake up when someone prints to it. This printer has a static IP address, sleep mode timer adjusted 240 (max), and did not have this issue until a recent drum replacement was performed. Is there a way to completely disable the sleep mode of this printer?

SOURCE: Printer doesnt come out of sleep mode (Brother MFC7420)

I'd be happy to give you the solution to this problem :)

You'll want to go into the menu and choose these options: 1,6, and 2. The final stop should give you the sleep menu.

The printer is setup for a default of 5 minutes. But you can change it from 00 to 99 minutes. To just shut it off, press the Options and Start button simultaneously and that will do the trick.

Here is the link to the manual: http://www.brother.ca/en/products/pdf/manuals/MFC7820N-UG.pdf

If I wasn't specific enough, the solution is on page 2-6

SOURCE: I want to find the MAC address on a Brother

Go to Printers and Faxes.
Right click on the printer and select Properties.
Toward the bottom, click on Printing Preferences...
Click on the Support tab.
Click on Print Settings.

This should give you three pages. The third page has the network settings including Ethernet/MAC address.

SOURCE: brother 5250dn drum light blinking; I think drum

The drum light is on due to a preset counter to notify you that the drum has reached the end of Normal Usage life expectancy. It doesn't mean that it has failed, yet...but soon. I would suggest having a new drum on hand for when print quality starts failing. Either new drum units have a reset fuse in them to clear the warning light, or there is a reset proceedure to use after installing the new drum unit.

SOURCE: I've installed a new drum AND a new toner

Try this....
1: Turn off power and remove toner/drum
2: Tape the little spring loaded lever just inside the printer on the upper left hand side in the *DOWN* position! Do not replace drum yet and...
3: Turn power on to printer and let it cycle. Status/Toner lights will come on as usual.
4: Turn off printer, remove tape from lever, replace drum and turn back on.

If your Brother DCP-1510 printer is in sleep and stack copies mode, you will need to wake it up in order to print your document. To do this, simply press the power button on the printer and it should wake up. Once the printer is awake, you will be able to print your document.

How do i remove the sleep mode so i can recieve faxes?

The Brother machines go into sleep mode to save power, in the machine setup you select how long to wait before going to sleep. When all is working, it will wake up as soon as a fax is received, so you really don't need to change it. If you use menu to reports and select the user settings to print, it will tell you where the setting is at.

Lcd says sleep 10: 35 fax. What does that mean?

The machine goes into the sleep mode after the amount of time you set to conserve energy. It is sleeping and will wake if a fax comes in, fax tells you it is in the fax mode and not the manual mode or fax/tel mode. 10:35 is the time of day.

Computer goes into Hybernate Mode after each print Job.

Try plugging the printer power cable into a different power outlet, preferably an outlet that is not shared. I had a similar problem but in my case, the computer would crash. For some reason, the HL-5250DN demands so much electricity on starting a job that it doesn't play nice with the other equipment.
