Hi, the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not for the phone, now you would have been given this code on the pack the sim card was attatched to, but chances are you no longer have this anymore, so the only other way you can get this is by calling your service provider, all you need to do is give them either the phone number of the sim card or give them the number written on the back of the sim card, their is no other way of getting this code and it cant be guessed as its between 8 and 11 digits long and its totally random, they will give you this code for free over the phone so give them a call and your phone will be working again.
if you guess the code and get it wrong more than 5 times then it will lock the phone and make the sim card scrap so dont keep guessing as you just wont get the right code as it is totally random.
if how ever you dont need to use the sim card thats asking for the code then what you can do is go out and buy a new sim card and put this in your phone, this new sim shouldnt ask for the PUK code but if it does then you will have the code with the new sim card.
now if the phone is asking for the PUK code because you have entered the wrong security code on the phone more than 5 times then this means even if you get the PUK code this will only then get the phone asking for its security code again, but if the phone never asked for this first and its just asking for the PUK code then once you enter the code you will have access to the phone and the details on the sim card ok
the reason the phone asks for the PUK code is usually down to the wrong pin number been entered for the phones security code, so if this is the case then the phone locks the sim card to prevent any1 from getting the data on it so if your phone was stolen and you had the phone protected by a security code then if someone found it and entered the wrong code more than 5 times then this will then block the sim card until the PUK code has been entered correctly, its all just a safety feature to prevent the sim card been used and stop your data been stolen.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone you can only get the PUK code for the sim card by ringing your service provider you need to give them the sim cards number and they will then give you the code for free over the phone.
if you have entered the code wrong more than 5 times then the chances are the sim card is now blocked and can no longer be used.
you can put a new sim card in and this wont ask for the PUK code, how ever if the sim card is blocked you will lose all the info stored on the sim card such as numbers, texts etc so make sure you dont try guessing the PUK code as its totally random code and the only way of getting this is by calling your service provider
Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone, all you need to do is call your service provider and ask them for the PUK code for the sim card that is asking for the code, they will give you this code for free over the phone, its a 10digit code so dont try guessing as you will block the sim card.
if you dont need to use that sim card then you can get a new sim card for your phone and this wont ask for the PUK code.
Each sim card made has its own unique PUK code and it is totally random so their are no number generators out their that can get you this number as its unique to each sim card.
Giving your service provider a call will get you the PUK code and they wont charge for giving you this, if you enter the number wrong between 5 and 10 times depending on what network your with then this will mean the sim card is locked and can no longer be used and you will also lose any data that is stored on the sim card.
The PUK & PIN codes are Security Codes that are on the SIM card. PIN( Personal Identification Number ) PUK ( Pin Unlock Key). when the PIN code in entred wrong the SIM automatically Blocks the PIN. to unlock the PIN you need to Enter the PUK. but if you enter the PUK wrong the Entire SIM is Locked.
The PIN Code & the PUK codes are Only Known by your Network Provider. you have to get in touch with them to get the codes. how ever if you have PUK blocked you will have to get a replacement SIM
Few people use PIN locking system to lock their phone to avoid un-authorised access. Though this is a good option, it pisses you off sometime. Three wrong entry of PIN code will result in SIM blocking. Once SIM gets blocked, phone starts asking PUK code to enter. If you again enter wrong code for three times, SIM gets completely blocked. You have to walk into your service provider outlet to get a replacement SIM card. PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess & enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don’t do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider. You may call to customer care using any other mobile phone which uses the same service provider. They will ask some details about you to make sure you are the owner of the SIM card. Questions might include your billing address, email ID, numbers you recently called or messaged etc. They might even ask you number printed on the SIM card, so be prepared with all details before calling them. Once you get the PUK code, enter it into the phone & your phone will return to normal.

Hi,
PUK code in PIN UNLOCKING CODE, which is required when you give PIN number wrongly for 3 times,
This code is OPERATOR specific and not phone specific and you have to call you operator and get PUk if PIN is blocked...
if you provide PUK code wrongly for 7 time, you sim may become useless, then you have to buy new SIM
NOTE: You should ask your service provider..
SIM pin code: This is a pin code that locks the sim card until you enter the correct code. This protects your account, even if your sim is put into another handset. To reset it, you need the PUK code: Pin Unlock Code (PUK) If you miss key (or forget) your SIM pin code, and enter the wrong one 3-5 times in a row, the SIM will lock up, and you’ll need to enter the PUK unlock code to release it. You should ask your Network Service Provider for this code when you need it. Don’t try to guess it, because after a few wrong guesses, the SIM card will be permanently disabled. Phone Security Code: This locks the handset, as opposed to the sim card. You can also set some handsets to only accept a “new” sim if the phone security code is entered. To reset it, you need the Master code code: Master Reset Code
Sometimes known as the Master Code, this allows you to unlock a handset if you have entered the Security Code wrongly too many times. Which is the one that you want? The default security code for Nokia is 12345
