I recently wired power to a subwoofer direct from the battery and grounded to the left rear side of the car (directly on the unpainted body). Now my tail and park lamps keep shorting out even after the ground was removed! The fuse will blow after about 3 seconds of power and they're rated 30A.

If it only happens when you turn the switchto the parking lights then it is most likely the swich that is the problem. Light swich failure appears to be a common fault with fords

SOUNDS LIKE SHIFT INTERLOCK SOLENOID IS STUCK. TRY GIVING A FEW HITS AND PUSH ON AND OFF ON BRAKE PEDAL AND SEE IF YOU CAN FREE IT UP. JAR IT AROUND A BIT LIKE TRYING TO WIGGLE IT OUT WHICLE PUSHING ON AND OFF ON BRAKE PEDAL SEVERL TIMES. DO YOU HEAR A CLICK IN CENTER CONSOLE WHEN PUSHING BRAKE?

your lights are grounding out some where you will have to check for a dead short in the wiring use a volt meter in the resitance mode and track through you power side of the lights untill you find your dead short, start at the back and work your way to the fuse box pull the fuse and follow the wire. there is a short in it it will just take some time going through look for worn coating, cracks, or melted.
good luck & and happy hunting

Try putting a bigger amp fuse like 20. If it is still blowing it, there is a short somewhere in the circuit that is allowing excessive amps to through that circuit. Have a mech check that out.
