thanks but I dont get as far as the desktop. Its weird because its a brand new screen, I have only had it for a week and its been fine. So you think I may have a problem with the graphics card? What do I do?
    Cheers

I have the same problem, and I think it's because of my computer because every other monitor I try says the same thing, like "Signal Lost".

Could this be some kind of virus?

I've purchased and downloaded RegCure and run the scanner and fixer about 10 times, all the 'problems' it found have been fixed and I'm still getting the monitor power save message. I've tried messing with the resolution and graphical settings and nothing seems to help. I feel like it may be a dysfunction between my graphics card and my monitor. It's an ATI graphics card and I know that some games (including Civilization 4) have had problems with initializing the graphics card. Anyone know anything that might help?

Will be working on my computer when the screen will go black and I get a blue dialog box explaining Analog Power Saving Mode. The only way I have been able to get rid of this problem is to reboot my computer which means I loose what I am working on. The problem still continues. Can you please provide me with a solution to this problem? I am not a computer wiz. Thanks

  • fritz9090 May 05, 2008

My problem is the same as most. All of a sudden, the screen goes black and a blue box with ANALOG POWER SAVER MODE appears and the only way out is to reboot. Some times, jiggling the mouse prevents this from happening, but not all of the time.

I have assured that no power saver modes are selected through the desktop. This doesnt help!

I am about to give up on LG and tell others to do likewise.

All I can view on my LG Flatron (L226WTY) 22 in. LCD monitor is the error message "Analog Power Saving Mode" I can't access anything on my computer, even if I reboot. I used the monitor on another computer and it works well. I have been using this monitor for about a month without any problems. Nothing that I know has changed with my system. The cause is a mystery. Please help if you have any ideas, thanks.

Acer Veriton M410, LG flat-screen monitor, Vista, AMD 64, ATI Radion, everything new. Rather than turn off the computer last time, I opted for the energy saving mode. Upon my return I tried to arouse it out of its slumber with mouse, keystrokes, etc., then with a brief "coax" of the button, and finally restarting by pressing the start button for 5 seconds. Also unplugged it for several minutes. The monitor functions enough to show "analog power saving mode." I can't get into the bios by pressing F8. The keyboard indicators (cap lock, num lock, etc.) flash once at the beginning, but do not remain lit. Probably will have to send it back for repairs. What a set-back! I was going to throw away the packaging materials today, but my wife dissuaded me. (Good wife!)

my LG L226WTQ monitor will go into power saving mode only when I play World of Warcraft and after about 15 minutes. I set all power savings in Vista to never, and advanced to never and it still happens. I updated drivers for monitor and Nvidia 9600GT video card both are current. It will not wake I must use power button and shut down to restart.

I have an LG Flatiron L226WT-BF monitor hooked up to my Macbook Pro, and it was flashing on and off in Analog Power Save, so frustrating! But during one of its quick cycles (it took a couple of cycles, actually LOL) I did manage to set it back to its default resolution of 1440 X 900, and voila, it stayed on! Hope this helps someone else.

Right click on your desktop>Properties, then click on Screen saver tab, then at botton of the box you should see 'Monitor Power'. Click on 'Power' then Power schemes tab. Look at 'Turn off monitor' and set to 'Never'

If you don't get as far as your desktop and it goes straight into power saving mode, there maybe a graphics card error, come back here if this is the case.

  • Anonymous Nov 30, 2006

If your monitor light goes to amber, try re-booting your pc into safe made (Press F8 when booting up, then select safe mode with networking so you can access the internet for a driver for your graphics if it is corrupt), and see if your monitor will stay on in VGA mode(this means without your graphics card driver).

If it stays on its either a conflict with the screen resolution or your driver.

Try uninstalling your graphics driver in add/remove programmes, then re-booting and make sure Windows loads the correct manufacturer driver and not the Windows generic driver.

You may have accidently let Windows update you graphics driver with auto updates, and your graphics won't run with it.

Hi, the reason couse you get this error is couse you have both the Analog and the digital cable connected between your new screen and computer, remove the Analog cable (often the blue one on LG screens) and only use the Digital (Black one often on LG) and your computer should be fine.

LG have big problems with their Analog cables if you ask me, they never worked with my computer.
Try remove the Analog cable and tell me if this worked for you.

Thanks
/mikael

When my computer tries to boot up, the monitor remains blank. The monitor works on another computer, the power supply has been swapped with a working one, and failing any solution, the motherboard has been replaced. Nothing makes any difference.

I have the same problem, its turns off & says analog power saving mode. Solution: just change the new cable analog. It is because one of the connector inside cable maybe broken. So far so good, I had no problem anymore. Hopefully this will help you all. 30/12/08, 9.30pm

1.Right click on the Desktop and choose "Graphic properties"
2. Choose the option "Display Devices"
3. If you see "single Display" then change to "Multiple Display.
Choose Notebook as primary Device
Choose Monitor as Secondary Device.

I had the same problem and that's how I resolved it.

I had the same issue. Checked out LG website, did a live chat with tech. They made sure it was a power saving option on my computer. They are sending a new monitor since I was still under warranty. Didn't give me a hard time..seemed pretty used to the issue.

I had the same problem and I tried the following that did not work:
1. adjust the screen resolution to the native mode of the monitor (1440 x 900).
2. try another video cable.
3. install the drivers for the monitor.
4. turn off power saving features in the bios and XP.
5. reset the monitor to the factory default settings.
I plugged the monitor into a 9 year old e-machines, and it worked perfectly. After a few days of more
experimenting I tried the following that did work: I installed the drivers for the video card.

I spoke with LG lab technician after having same problem with 2 LG monitors (one after enother). He admits there is a problem with LG monitors, probably with the the power supply unit.

I took my first monitor to the lab & the problem disappeared. After few month it happened with the secund monitor after electrical power interruption.

Sorry, you have to take your monitor to the lab before replacing any expensive components.

This could be either a graphic card problem or a case of conflict between two different RAM installed. With me apparently the latter was the problem. I was using 512 and 128 mb RAM, DDR 2. I removed the lesser one and the problem got solved. However, suddenly after a month or so now it resurfaced again. But in this instance I'm doubting it could be a case of updating the graphic drivers since my PC is kept in an automatic update mode. If this is the case then Sandrew could be correct.

Acer pc and lg monitor blank screen says power save mode on start up, anyone know how to fix this?

Actually during start-up there is a slight delay before the HDD & OS is detected by the CPU. Normally all monitors slip into power saving mode within 10 secs of inactivity of either mouse or keystroke. This inactivity is read by the monitor which promptly switches to power saving mode. However the moment the HDD LED starts blinking, the monitor wakes up & starts displaying. This power saving mode in most of the flat screens is only associated with movement of mouse or keypad. This does not register till the CPU starts up & thats why the monitor switches over to power saving mode till it starts receiving signal from the CPU.
It is a normal behaveour, so don't get worked up over it, plus you can always hit the Auto set feature on the monitor after booting the PC completely. ( I think the time out for the monitor to enter power saving mode is only 10 secs). Hope this helps.

Analog power saving mode

If its going to analog power saving mode, that is what its supposed to do when it does not get a recognizable connection from a computer vga port. I would suggest coming back on with some more information about your computer and suggest testing another screen on your pc.

Computer monitor comes on for 1 seconds, flashes "analog power save mode" and then goes black.

Most monitors will say "Power save mode" when they can tell through residual voltage that the signal lead is plugged into a machine, but there's no picture being transmitted. The four states of a monitor are:

* Off entirely.
* Switched on, plugged into a computer but no video signal being received - usually displays "analog power save mode" or "digital power save mode" for a few seconds, then blanks. Comes back to life the moment a video signal is received. This state is the default in full power saving mode.
* Switched on, not plugged into a computer. Some monitors don't display anything, some go into power saving mode, some fly "CHECK SIGNAL CABLE" or a similar message around the screen. Picture is restored when the signal cable is plugged back into the computer
* On fully, receiving an image, and displaying.

Hope this helps.

"analog power save mode"

different monitors have different settings. Anyhow, press the menu button on your monitor (hope it is there otherwise some other button must have been assigned this function). Choose recall or auto adjust or factory default from there (whichever of these options you can see). Nothing serious.....
