How do i turn off the delayed type on a ibm wheelwriter6

From your posting it sounds like you have cracked plastic print solenoid cap. We sell them for 20.00 with instructions.

First be sure the batteries are good and making contact. On the L. side of the keyboard are 3 keys store, play and delete. Hold the store key and type an address 01 - 99, release store, type info., press store again. To print Hold play type the address and release play. delete works the same way.

the WW 6-II doesn't have that feature

If this ia a wheelwriter 6 on the l. side of the keyboard are 3 keys store, play & delete. To store hold store and press an address 01-99, rel the store key, type info., then press store again. To print hold play and type address 01-99 info. will print.

The delay print and justify are both on the far rt. of the keyboard pressing these keys turns the features off and on. if this dosen't do it you're keyboard is bad.

Befor you put a nrw motor in try a few drops of light oil on the m
motor bearings (WD40 works well).

The print solenoid has the plastic cap on the end broken or desintagrated. i fix this all the time. also make sure you didnt turn on the lang feature. that will keep your carrier in one spot for certain foreign symbols. to clear it hold down the features key next to the space bar and hit the lang key with the features key depressed. try turning the machine off put a SMALL amount of oil on the large round rod running across the typewriter manually push the print head left and right a few times to see if it will loosen up. The problem is usually caused be drying oil you may consider having it serviced by a pro.
