Maytag Bravos error code f1

Get an error code of F1 shortly after the washer begins filling. The only way to complete a cycle is to keep holding cancel, and then restarting the machine several times.

F1 is a very bad error unfortunately. Try unplugging the unit 60 seconds to see if it will reset the control board. If not, then you will need a new relay control board which is about $200, because F1 means that the board has detected an internal short inside the control board itself.

SOURCE: maytag washer LAT 9800 washer fills

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

If you can use a mirror carefully under the machine and see that the motor is actually turning both belts when it is supposed to be agitating. (CAUTION the pump belt is in the very front of the machine base.) I suspect that it is driving the belts normally.

Inside the transmission there is a nylon gear that drives the agitator shaft for agitation. It sounds like the nylon gear has stripped gear teeth. This can be repaired and parts are available but it is a major undertaking, time consuming and not cheap.
To repair this if the nylon gear has failed the top, agitator, inner and outer tubs, large lower pulley and transmission must be removed. I will say this is not your average repair. Let me just add that this washer can still serve a long service life if repaired.
(I personally own a LAT9700 and just spent the time and money to overhaul it 2 weeks ago) Your call on having it repaired or replacement i.e evaluation / comparison time..... . This repair if done correctly by a seasoned tech takes well over 2 hours of shop time so keep that labor expense in mind. I have worked on Maytags for over 40 years that started with the Family business.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

SOURCE: maytag bravos washer stops cycle "f" code flashes

This isnt really a solution because Im having the same problem. The repair man that came said that is buildup of soap in the water line. I use my own powder soap, not h/e, and its not desolving and getting built up in the lines. Im not sure what to do to get it to stop doing this. He suggested cutting back on the amount of soap and running hot water through the lines which I have done for the last couple of days but I still have this problem.

SOURCE: Keep getting an F1 code

You must have trash or sediment in your pressure tube hose. b66bfab.jpgRemove it from the pressure switch and blow the stuff out then re-secure the hose and pump out any water in the tub. Then retry. Use this handy dandy service manual as a GUIDE

SOURCE: My Maytag Bravo washer starts,

The solution is easy. Remove the screws in the back and find the pressure tubing from tub to the control. Remove it and blow through that tubing to get the sand and sediment out of their. Re attach the tubing and retry. I have more:

F1 flashes on my maytag bravo washer

This is an inherent problem with this Whirlpool-made top load washer and at first it is believed to be a machine/motor control fault. But it was found later that it can be due issues associated with the pressure transducer/switch system. Air leaks and moisture in the pressure hose including lints or flashing in the air dome can lead to signal error being sent to the machine/motor control assembly and it is interpreted as a machine/motor control fault. You may also observe that the fault code F1 appears usually during water filling at the start of the wash cycle and/or at the start of the rinse cycles.

Check the pressure hose for air leaks and moisture including the air dome. Replace the machine/motor control assembly if no issue is found with the pressure hose and the air dome. Click on the link below for the troubleshooting and repair instruction details.

My kenmore keeps getting f1 code had it fixed and it cost almost 400 dollars and it is doing it again washer was just over a year old when this happened, gave 1200 for washer should last 10 years with out...

This problem has been found to be inherent with this model including its Whirlpool (Cabrio) and Maytag (Bravos) counterparts. It is due to the design of the water level control system, the pressure transducer, which has been integrated with the machine/motor control assembly. It has been found that issues with the pressure transducer including the pressure hose results in the flashing of the fault code F1. Air leaks and moisture in the pressure hose and lint or flashing in the air dome can result in signal error being sent to the machine/motor control assembly and hence the fault code F1 which is according to the service manual, a machine/motor control fault. You may observe that this fault code appears whenever water runs into the machine.

Whirlpool, the manufacturer of these models, has issued a bulletin regarding this issue and suggested the necessary actions in identifying the real cause of this problem and how to address it. Click on the link below for the troubleshooting and repair details.

The f1 code on the Maytag Bravos top loading washer keeps going off and stopping the machine

Please contact Maytag to inquire about the code F1. They should check the system and that that code is a courtesy repair and should be scheduled for a someone to come out to fix it. FREE
It is possible that the F1 code was caused by your laundry habits (detergent), but I think that is unlikely. Too many of these machines have problems with the F1 error code. There is a known problem with the Oasis / Cabrio / Bravos machines.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Error message code F1

Whirlpool did a recall on this problem here is there number try this first. Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301
On a number of ranges this can mean a number of things, the most common being a failed ERC(EOC, Clock assembly)or a faulty touchpad. Firstly if you are using a recent Maytag range it may pay to test the oven sensor as described above as this may cause an F1 error if faulty (may apply to some other ranges as well) this is not a common cause but is worth discounting. To check the ERC and touchpad
  1. Disconnect the power
  2. Gain access to the back of the ERC
  3. Disconnect the ribbon cable that connects the ERC to the touchpad
  4. Check nothing will short when power is reconnected
  5. reconnect the power and switch on
  6. Watch for F1 and listen for the beep
  7. If you get the F1 and the beep this means the fault is with the ERC and it will need replacing
  8. If after 30 mins you do not see the F1 error and hear the beep, replace the touchpad
