Clean the stainless steel sensor pads located just inside the dryer door with isopropyl alcohol, these sensors register moisture in the garments and adjust drying times accordingly, when you use dryer fabric softener sheets it coats these sensors and throws the system off, make sure to shut off power to unit as this alcohol is very flammable, then leave door open to air out before re-powering up unit

SOURCE: Time skips from 18 minutes to 6 minutes on automatic mode

It is the moisture sensor system, it is not sensing the wet clothes. Open the door, inside you should see a part with 2 metal bars that is around 3 inches long, clean these bars with a mult purpose cleaner. Sometimes fabric softner sheets and detergent builds up on this so that the machine cannot sense the moisture. Hope this helps.

Why do the Automatic cycles on my Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer not always work?

In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

I have a whirlpool duet model gew9250pw1 dryer it gets good and hot put when the cycle is done some of the clothes are still damp.i not sure if it is the timer or a censer. i know when we start it the...

Look for an airflow blockage. Be sure lint filter is cleaned and if lint is accumulated in the air stream path, take a vacuum or brush and clean it out. Dirt and lint are a dryer's worst enemy.

The dryer keeps stopping (the timer skips from 50 mins to 10 mins in secs) AND what worries me the most is, I haven't needed to empty the lint trap.

Well, well.
Am I to understand the timer dial is going really fast as you watch it?
I didn't know that was possible, but maybe the wiring has been compromised (shorted out) somehow. If so, you would need to take it all back apart and look for a wire that is pinched or incorrectly hooked up. Some Whirlpool dryers have numbers on the back of the timer that are supposed to match numbers that are actually printed on the wires themselves.
As far as the lint trap, perhaps one of the "pipes" inside the dryer is unhooked or loose causing the hot air to miss the screen.
Be blessed.

Whirlpool duet frontload washer not draining on automatic cycle

Try unplugging for 10 min. This will reboot the system and clear the curcuit of all power. Replug the washer and select spin to drain. Selecting too many cycles in a short period of time can confuse the little brain in the curcuit just like a power surge does after a storm. Clear the brain and start from scratch.

WHEN YOU WASH IS THE WATER HOT ENOUGH IN A REASONABLE TIME? ALSO DOES THE WASHER SENCE THE AMOUNT OF SOAP THATS IN THE TUB. IT COULD BE GIVING ADDITIONAL RINCES TO REDUCE THE SOAP CONTENT.(TRY WITH NO SOAP IN SYSTEM AND SEE IF TIME IS SHORTER)

Dryet

Shelly on some of the older models they used a inline resistor on the dryers timer. It looks like a inline fuse comming off the timer. If it goes bad the timer will not stop. Check the attachment. Cost around 17.00, Catriver, post back. Part number 3401076
