The rinsing cycle will not stop. I've tried numerous solutions including turning the machine off, pressing all the buttons and leaving it unplugged. Even when the water runs out it will start after the tank has been filled.

This is a problem which just started for me today also. Have tried everything you suggested as well as looking for a reset button...nothing has worked yet. Tried to contact Gaggia Customer Service in the US at 888-389-4123 but with it being Christmas Eve and all no one is available...but you can leave a message. While the machine is stuck in the rinse cycle I'm also not able to remove the internal brew group...not sure if the problems are related or not. If you discover a way to fix this problem I'd really appreciate hearing about it. Thank you!

I discovered the way to fix this problem from the VERY helpful and friendly Customer Service representative at the number posted above. Once the machine is in the rinse cycle it must complete this cycle before returning to the "ready" cycle. It may take up to FOUR full containers of water to complete the cycle.
When I refilled my machine tonight it only used about 1/4 of the second full tank before returning to normal.
My machine is working perfectly now as I sit here enjoying a cup of coffee tonight.

This is ridiculous...no way to stop the cycle!!!
I spoke to the rep at technical support and the answer is a turkey baster or something like it to force water into the unit to manually prime it. This may take three or for attemps and you will need to turn on the steam wand for water once you get water into the system, try to get the hot water button to try to let you run hot water, if it does not take the command keep the tank full. It could take upto 4 tanks of water to finish the full rinse cycle.

If you have started a Rinsing Cycle "The machine brews about half quantity of the water contained in the tank from the dispenser." This is from the manual for the Titanium.
In practice this process cannot be interrupted either by a key press or interrupting the power.
The only option is to allow the process to complete, which is difficult as it exceeds the capacity of the drip-tray.
I found a small (1 pint) jug and mug could be easily alternated under the coffee dispenser catching the waste water and allowing it to be emptied away down a sink.
After about half a full tank of water has been used it will stop rinsing.

rinsing cycle will not shut off. We have tried pressing menu button etc, but none of the buttons respond and the rinsing cycle stays on and will overflow if we leave the machine on.
